Vodafone Retention Deals

I got another PAC code (my 3rd time) today and immediately they offered some deals, then I got a call from retentions. No idea why they didnt' call in the past! The retentions person was surprisingly helpful.
I decided to take a deal! Very good I think!
Samsung Galaxy S2 FREE and Unlocked
21 per month x 24 months
600 minutes of calls
1gb Data
100 mms messages (I won't use them ever)
Unlimited texts
2gb Wifi (I think wth BT Openzone)
Included Vodafone Passport
That looks like a fair deal.
How did you manage to give your PAC 3 times ?
Im thinking possibly of getting the S2, but would prefer the Nexus cos of all the software updates it will get over the next 12/24 months, and it's also a slightly better phone, hardware wise.
Will ring Voda next week and get PAC's.

I've been met by silence from VF, even after getting a PAC, so I went onto their forum, and that got a response/reaction.
Very pleasant guy, although he wouldn't budge on 512MB data, but the deal was half the standard/publicised price.
Just got to decide now between VF and Tesco/O2. Any suggestions?David.0 -

Half price !
What were you offered, if you don't mind me asking?

OIC. It was half price 'cos you aren't getting a handset.
Their normal SIM only deal is £20.50 for 600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB internet over 12 months.
So yes it's half price and nothing to do with no handset. If you want sim only I'd look at Giff Gaff.
GiffGaff is only 250 minutes although unlimited internet.0 -

That's correct, no handset involved, the published SIMO deal at half price.
Tbh, I haven't looked at GiffGaff but from what I've read on various forums/sites, it's far too much hassle for me. I want a simple ongoing contract, can't be bothered with messing about, add-ons etc etc, and although some of their deals might be good, there's a fair number of people not over-impressed with them!David.0 -
600mins, 3000 texts, 512MB + BT Openzone. Normal price £20.50, offered at £10.25.
Do I take it, or go with Tesco/O2 £12.50 deal?
Did the Retention department offer you this or was it offered by the Twitter team?
Also, is it £10.25 until you cancel/amend the contract or is it £10.25 only for nine months?
I'm asking because I can only get Vodafone to offer half price for nine months and then three months at full price and this deal is what I'm after. I waste so much time every year trying to cancel a contract with Vodafone and then waiting for the Retention/ Twitter team to call me. I just want it done and sorted, so I don't have to keep track off when every Vodafone contract is up for renewal.0 -

I went via the VF forum but I think it's the same dept as the Twitter folk.
I was offered several deals one of which was the 9 month, which I told him was a joke, worked out at over £20 a month!!David.0 -
My contract with Vodafone is up for renewal so I rang up saying I want to cancel and requested a PAC code; my plan was to spend the evening researching some contracts with other networks to use in the haggling process when Vodafone's Retention crew rang me back. What I wasn't expecting or prepared for was Vodafone to ring me back within the hour!
In hindsight I should have asked them to call back at another time but the guy on the other end soon began talking interesting contracts and I got drawn in. My current price plan is as follows:
500 minutes
Unlimited texts
500 MB internet
Stop the Clock
And although I currently have an ailing iPhone, I was originally given an average-ish Nokia with this contract when I took it out 18 months ago
I'm desperate to hold on to the Stop the Clock as we don't have a land line and I make most of my calls in the evening and I'm after the Samsung S2 handset.
From the word 'go' the Vodafone guy that rang made it clear that they no longer did STC and therefore I couldn't stay on this current price plan. He asked if I had seen contracts with other networks and I mentioned one of a couple I'd seen:
£26 T-Mobile
Samsung Galaxy S2
600 Mins
Unlimited Texts
1GB data
In response to this he offered me the below offer:
Samsung Galaxy S2
1200 Mins
Unlim texts
500 MB data
BT Openzone
£26
I asked about the STC and he said there was no way I could keep on to that. I tried fighting it on different points - that I'd been a customer for 10 years and expected my loyalty to be rewarded better than what he was offering but the guy wouldn't budge and in the end said there was no point continuing the conversation as I was asking for something he couldn't give.
So my question is what have people on here said to Vodafone to keep the STC and secondly, now that I've had my call from Retentions and been sent out a PAC will they ring me back or have I blown it?0
