Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal please? Or should I go elsewhere?
HTC Desire S (free) with 600 mins, unlimited texts, 500Gb data, 24 months - £21/mth
It sounds good to me but then current contract is a woeful 75mins, no texts £20.50 - yes I know, I should have upgraded ages ago.
ThanksDon't put it down, put it away - thanks Valli
Thank you to all who post competitions & help the smooth running of the comps board0 -
got more over 18m too!, but prices have gone up it seems0

Im really annoyed with vodaone! I have been with them for over 4 year i think now and have always had my current price plan which gives me 500 xnt min + 50% free 250 txts and stop the clock I pay extra for internet and 0870 on a 12month contract. No my contract is due to end on the 08/11/2011 and they are not allowing me to upgrade to a new handset and keep my old price plan! talk about a slap in the face for loyal customers! I really wanted to get the Nokia lumia 800, but the 'new' 12 month price plans they want me to change to do not work for me and also alot more than what i pay at the minute.
I am very tempted to jump ship and go to 3 because at least with them i do get unlimited data! Can a vodafone rep please get in touch with me to see if they can help me before I leave forever.
cheers0 -
i got called earlier as im due an upgrade and the idiot offered me:
sim only 12 months contract
250 mins (currently on 300 an go over occasionally by a few mins nothin major)
500 texts (currently unlimited and usually use 600 on average)
500 meg internet (currently on 1 gig an average 350 meg)
all for £20.50 per month!! i laughed at him an told him about tescos £12.50 deal on a 3 month contract, he just said he'd note that id declined his offer and hung up lol
i then looked onlne and its worse than the sim only deals on the website!!!!! shocking!0 -
I've just upgraded and asked about unlimited internet. I was told that I had it for the first 3 months to play with but after that it went down to the standard data allowance.
I couldn't match splatt30's deal but I did get:
600 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet for 3 months (500 MB after that)
1GB BT Openzone
£31 per month (phone was free)
Good enough for me
My new contract is
500 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet for 3 months (500 MB after that)
1GB BT Openzone
£26 per month
The phone is still free but online they are charging £99 for the handset on that price plan, and it only has 300 mins.
So, over the 24 months I will have saved £459 (£99 + 24 x £15) compared to my old contract and I have one of, if not the best, smartphone on the market (at the moment!):D:D
PAYDOBX 2017 £660/3000

Whilst waiting for the SGS2 to arrive I noticed that the Vodafone price plan I had agreed to had changed. So, I called them today and told them the situation and asked to reduce my monthly cost or the term of the contract. After some checking, he was able to reduce my plan by £5 (but I did have to lose 100 mins).
My new contract is
500 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet for 3 months (500 MB after that)
1GB BT Openzone
£26 per month

I reckon it is actually slightly cheaper to buy a SIM free phone (£372 at prepaymania) and get a SIM only contract (Tesco mobile '500mins/Unl texts/500MB) at £10 per month. Vodafone has not in fact give you a deal any cheaper than you can get elsewhere.0 -
Called vodafone today & gave my 30 days notice, apparantly retention now means you can have the same as everyone else can get on the website!
From some of the deals offered to others above in this thread it would seem they don't want me anymore ;(
LMAO!!! I have been feed the same rubbish as you have, thus i have given my notice and will be leaving shortly. I cant believe they are treating us old loyal customers with such contempt0 -
Anyone know when HTC Sensation XE will be available for upgrade with vodafone or has anyone had a deal for the XL. Looking to upgrade this month
Thanks0 -
Hi...
Im eligible to upgrade next Wednesday, and am after an Android handset.
Currently have 2 x HTC Desire on 18 month contracts with 300 mins and 1 gb internet plus free texts for 2x £26 a month.
I want 2x HTC Sensation,... ideally I would prefer to go back to a 12 month contract but I doubt I can afford the price hike that would incur. Would rather not spend more each month, but my spring to an extra fiver (x2) per month for a Sensation XE which has a massive processor and is, IMO, the best smart phone currently available.
What upgrade offer(s) should I expect/settle for ?
I'll keep you posted as to what deal(s) Im offered and what I finally settle for. (I'm guessing I might have to wait 'till February when my contract ends to get the best deal, but unsure I can be that patient/sensible?)
All opinions welcome.
Regards,

Hi...
Its odd, but as we upgrade at the same time we tend to bump into one another on here, anyways...
Just to let you know about the Sensation XL.
From the reviews I've read, its a great phone apart from the screen, sure its big, but the resolution/clarity is disappointing apparently, which is a shame, 'cos the other specs are impressive. Just letting you know.
The following site is the best for independent reviews and customer feedback IMO - http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/ .
Just found this Sensation XE deal on Vodafone via Dial a Phone - http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/phone/HTC_Sensation_XE_with_Beats_Audio%E2%84%A2/search.aspx?product=HTC_Sensation_XE_with_Beats_Audio™ - some good offers there !!!!
