Vodafone Retention Deals

I've just have a call from Vodafone (08080000133) as I had requested my PAC on the 19th June (I have already sent my letter canceling as from the 19th July).
I was asked why I was leaving and I told them it was because I would be purchasing an Iphone (3g). The women then went on to ask if there was any other phone I would be interested it, and I told her no. Strangely she made no attempt to pitch anything (it might have worked? although I am set on getting an Iphone)
Just need my PAC and I can jump ship.
To be fair to Vodafone, they have provided excellent service to me, it's just they can't offer an Iphone......0 -
Hi, my line rental at the moment is £25pm
Hmm, that's alright, I'd still push for more if I were you. Something like half price for x many months, or permanently lowered line rental, more texts if you need them, something along those lines. Try and get as much thrown in as you can, and the nearer you get to the end date, the more they'll probably be able to offer you.I just renegotiated my renegotiated contract as I was within the first 14 days cancellation period.
I am now on 500 mins & 250 txts + STC & VP, all for £14 line rental + a free Bluetooth headset. It’s a 12 month contract too.
Can anyone get a better deal than that for me?
In a word, no. That seems a very good deal to me. What phone was that with in the end?0 -
Currently on 12mth contract, 200 mins, 250 txts, rollover and stop the clock for £12.50 and they threw in a Samsung Z720. My 12 mths are up and have sent off my contract termination with a date of cancellation provided as 13/07/2008.
I have spoken to upgrades and retentions without sucess. Received a letter today with the following quote 'We think you might be surprised by all the things we have to offer you. To find out call 0808 0600 682'.
I called and got worse deal than what I am currently on with no phone, they could offer me a Sony K770 (Customer returned phone) for the great price of £20 mth on my current tariff. I said thanks but no thanks and asked for my pac as they didn't provide it in the letter despite my request to do so.
Is it me or are there no offers, and is the number that I have quoted the outbound retention dept ? as I haven't received a call from them yet..0 -

That's ridiculous, they've got to be able to offer you better than that, or at least a half decent free phone for you to stay on what you're currently on. It seems they offer some people exactly what they want, whilst with others they just give up on really, that's how it seems to me. The outbound retention dept is 08080000133 I believe, that's what it was for me last time anyway.0 -
My contract is up 3rd July. I'm on £35 a month and use only 250 texts and about 100 mins a month. I rang upgrades and got offered very little, so pressed 4 and said I wasn't very tempted by the offers. I've been offered EITHER £7.50 for nine months then £35 a month for 750 mins and unlimited texts on a 12 month contact OR the same mins and texts plus a Samsung F490 for £30 a month for 18 months. I don't really want to agree to 18 months if it's £30 a month. I was hoping for the phone but fewer texts and mins - and less money. Am I asking too much?Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0

I'm currently on £30/month for 200 min + 250 texts + STC. I've been with Voda for 1 year, and when I joined, I was given 9 months 1/2 price for a 12 month contract, since I decided to keep my existing phone (unlocked from another network).
This year, they say that the best they can offer me is the same deal again. At the very least, I would want a permanent 1/2 price deal, so I don't have to re-negotiate the contract every year!
Why can't they offer me anything better? Would they offer a better deal if I had been with them longer?0 -

Have you written a letter to terminate your current contract ? if not this is the way to go.0 -

It doesn't bother me too much as i'm quite happy with my present one.0 -
I telephoned vodafone and got my monthly contract down by 50%...how easy by advising them that I had been offered a contract with Virgin for £10.00 per month, and asked out right what they could offer me, OK I had to keep my old phone (but I've only had it a year) the new contract is for 1 year only and I get the same deal but for £10.00 per month instead of £20.00 & it's effective with effect from the day that i made the call.:j :j :j , my sister on the otherhand has done better with T mobile she gets 250 mins & 250 text for £5.00 per month.
My advise is to try it, they don't want to loose contract customers........0 -

Sorry forgot to add i pay the £5 friends and family, which is why i never use my minutes. So in effect £30 a month.
Think i'm going to try and get it down to £20 a month including the friend and family with a soul or N950
