Vodafone Retention Deals

another thumbs up for the site.

i checked my deal with what i thought i had with retention deal and they said it will be confirmed by letter with delivery of new phone.

so i get lied to as i have not recieved letter confirmation. with this in mind and others saying retentions don't update systems all the time, so i thought best to check.

low and behold, they lied to me again. at the end of the negotiation i ran through and repeated what he said. he said it will have STC and rollover and when i checked it had neither. I couldn't get rollover mins, but managed to sort out STC atleast.

also on the two contracts was told one month free internet, but both are and having been charged to my account at £7.50 each.

in summary check after negotiation with retention, they LIE.

They seem to do this to everyone they deal with, not sure how they're still getting away with it really - so a note to everyone thinking about upgrading - always quadruple check that you've got what you agreed after you've had the initial phonecall. Also, get the operator's name that you are dealing with when you agree to it if you can.

And p1tse, I saw your posts on the VF eForum did you manage to get what you wanted/needed in terms of your contract in the end? Out of interest, did it take long for them to get back to you?

VF eforum, in terms of comparison to their other departments were excellent. they've made note to cancel my 3 months free insurance when it expires, so no need to ring back.

they called back same day after following their instructions and emailing.

i didn't get what retention department, i.e. rollover, but changed one contract £20 from 75 mins and 100 txt to 100 mins and 50 txt and STC.

still paying £25/month on other.

if you search my other thread regarding n95 8gb, someone on 02 managed to get loads of mins, txt and internet for £20, which i would jump at if they offered it online.

in summary, content on what i have. but would have liked to save a bit more, more mins, txt and better bundles. as voda seem to charge extra for picture msg, itemised billing, internet etc. which i have no bolt on's. all of this should be part of a better data bundle, that voda should offer.

still have part of my 14 day notice to cancel, so who knows

just want to say thanks p1tse and others for suggesting to go on the VE Forum... I didn't know it existed but they have been very helpful and now it seems to be all resolved... altho i have to say, i will think hard when the date of renewal comes back...what a bad service!!! if it wasn't for the VE forum i will have cancelled now...

Got a call today from cancellations
they offered to reduce my line rental by £5 for 9 months and get the LG secret on a 12month contract. My contract is 400xnet +100text with roll over mins. Its quite an old contract but suits me.

Do you think i can get a better offer, my contract doesnt run out till 20/08/08

That seems like a good deal to me, although you say you've got your line rental reduced by a fiver, but what's that got it down to now? The closer you get to the end of your contract I imagine the better deal you'd be able to squeeze out of them, possibly half price line rental for those 9 months instead of a fiver off.

Also remember that if you agree to new offer they've made you before the end of your contract (20/08/08) that they will add the extra two months on (or however long you've got left to run on your contract at the time), thus making it a 14month contract with £5 off the first 9, and full price the other 5.

I just renegotiated my renegotiated contract as I was within the first 14 days cancellation period.
I am now on 500 mins & 250 txts + STC & VP, all for £14 line rental + a free Bluetooth headset. It’s a 12 month contract too.
Can anyone get a better deal than that for me?
