    was offered this today

    samsung galaxy S II
    600mins
    unlimited texts
    500mb internet

free phone 24 month contract, first 12 at £26, next 12 at £31.

seems quite good but I might just go for a sim only contract and buy the phone separately or second-hand... will mull it over for a while.

I have agreed to this upgrade

    free HTC Desire S

    600 min cross network
    unlimited texts
    unlimited voda to voda calls
    500mb internet allowance
    bt openzone wifi 2gb allowance
free 0845, 0870 and 0800 calls part of the minutes
and a free upgrade of mobile number change in future for
    20 pound a month

pretty good deal if i say myself. It does depend on whether your existing contract gives you the flexibility to bargain that hard. I know with another line i could not get this deal.

I was thinking of moving to Talkmobile, where they do a Wildfire S, with 200 mins/200 texts/1gig of data for £12/month (with £35 Quidco, this comes down to about £10.50/month). Vodafone's Retentions dept. phoned me today and offered 300 mins/unlimited texts/1gig of data/2 gig of BT Openzone/150 (?) picture messages for £12/month. I'd struggle to use 200 mins in a month, let alone 300 mins - I was really just looking for the cheapest route to a Wildfire S with a decent amount of data.

I said I wanted to think about the offer, as I was busy at work when the Retentions guy phoned. He then basically said it was a take-it-or-leave-it one time offer, that Retentions wouldn't phone me back, and that I wouldn't be able to contact Retentions. I told him to leave it, but is he correct?

Got a top deal today, respect to Vodafone retentions...

Web relations offered me the other day a Wildfire S, 12 months, 300 mins, unlimited texts, 500mb data for £26 a month and £80 up front, so asked for my PAC code as could get a better deal from Talkmobile....

Retentions called me today (sorry fella forgot your name, but you were excellent) and he offered me....

Wildfire S - Free of charge, 300 mins, unlimited texts, 1gb of data, 100 pic msgs a month as well, all for just £25 a month...

Now you can't argue with that, especially as it is only a 12 month deal...

Very happy (not sure if you can tell :money: )

Also got a good deal from retentions today

    Galaxy Ace (which I wanted)
    300 minutes
    unlimited texts
    250mb
    1G BT openzone access
    £20.50 monthly for 18 months

    Really pleased with that :j

  • I got 300 min
    unlimited texts
    500mb
    100 international texts

    for £10 a month
    Owing on CC £00.00 :j

My contract period with Vodafone has ended. As I am happy with my Iphone 3gs I decided to go 'sim only' for a while to keep my costs down.
Looking at the deals on the Vodafone website and could only find a plan at £20.50 that was suitable (600 min 3000 texts & 500mb internet). Based on a 12 month contract.
This was expensive in my opinion so I looked around & found on the Carphone Warehouse website '300 min 1000 texts & 500mb internet' at £8 / month on a 6 month contract. I thought this would be ideal so requested my PAC code and asked for my Iphone to be unlocked. Recieved my Pac code by text and my unlock codes will be coming via email in a few days.
Today I had a call from retentions who offered me a similar deal to the Carphone Warehouse but at £15 / month but for 12 months. This has to be the worst offer ever, needless to say I said no and he wished me luck!
So its off to the Carphone Warehouse and in 6 months my daughters contract will be going there as well.

Called vodafone today & gave my 30 days notice, apparantly retention now means you can have the same as everyone else can get on the website!
From some of the deals offered to others above in this thread it would seem they don't want me anymore ;(

I had the same problem, put persistence pays off at least with sim only. Got myself 900 mins, unlimited texts,500mb internet, 0800, 0845, 0870 numbers and 750 mb of wifi for £10 for 9 months, but took about 6 phone calls

Too late now my notice period has been activated! At least when I need a new handset I will be a 'new customer'.
Must say though I am dissapointed with the response from vodafone. First guy lied through his teeth (won't) be able to access internet through my iphone. The other two offered nothing as an incentive to stay, only the standard 12 month sim only deals I could get online.
I think because I didn't want an upgrade maybe they don't have the same interest. Also as I have another contract for my daughters phone with 6 months to run perhaps I am not a priority as they are still getting money off me!
