I had an email advising I am due for an upgrade.
I have 2 phones that are due the same time so am looking to upgrade both

Tried to contact Vodafone Customer Services but it continually rings with no answer

I went into Orange to enquire what deals they have on

Here is what I was offered

    Galaxy SII or HTC Sensation
    18 mths contract
    500 mins
    unlimited texts
    unlimited data

£22.50 per month and no charge for the phone

This deal is alot better as i found out Orange actually offer 25% discount for members of the Armed Forces

I wonder IF Vodafone offer anything....will find out IF I can ever get hold of them

  • What a really useful thread :)

I am currecnlty on a 24 month contract getting 100 mins and 500 texts and 150mb(but phone is to rubbish to use the net). I have 1 month to go on the contract and want to upgrade to a new handset and a contract with a bigger data allowance.

Just rang up, requested my PAC code and was offered:

    HTC Wildfire S
    24 months
    100 mins
    500 texts
    500mb BT wifi
    £15.50 pm

Ideally I 'd like a 12 month contract, an HTC Desire S, more data, and more mins/texts for the same price, does that sound realistic? I got her to give me the PAC, is there any chance they will call back with another deal? I never use up my mins and texts at the moment, but my use of my phone might change over 24 months.

    cheers all

Doubt very much you would get the phone you are after with more minutes and data for the same price - For less than £5 more a month T-Mobile seem to be offering a good deal

    T-Mobile

    HTC Wildfire S [Free]
    24 Months
    600 Minutes
    500 Texts
    500MB Data

    Plus the choice of:

    Unlimited landline calls
    Unlimited text messages
    Unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile calls

    :dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

  • Looking at upgrading from £10 per month SIM only (300 minutes, unlimited texts), my own very basic Nokia phone.

Best deal seems to be through Quidco, rather than from Vodafone as an upgrade: 100 minutes, 500 texts, 100MB mobile internet, free HTC Wildfire, £13 per month for 24 months, but £90 cashback (so making rental under £10 per month). But I'd have to get a new number. I rarely use over 50 minutes per month, or 50 texts, so that's not an issue, but I have no idea whether the 100MB per month would be enough for internet? I'd be mainly checking email/FacebookTwitter, possibly using some apps (sorry so ignorant that I assume apps use internet) but don't want to incur extra charges.

Any advice? Tempted by the HTC as a way of trying out newer technology.

Out of contract with VF now. Been a customer for well over ten years. Need new phone as have Nokia 6700 slide which although only a year old isn't working properly - so VF suggest.

I have been offered the following for £20.50 per month. I've been on a 12 month contract costing £15 inc VAT. They want me to pay towards the HTC Desire S hence the first set of figures are the costs of the new phone. 02, T Mobile, CPW, Orange all said no payment towards new phone required.

300 minutes, unlimited SMS, 250MB data and 500MB WiFi access at £20.50 per month:

    £147.73 - 12 month Agreement
    £80.73 - 18 month agreement
    £17.73 - 24 month agreement

I'm not too happy with the 250mb date and 500mb WiFi as not sure how much I will need during the next two years.

Wondering if I should push for more??

Should add that I've had my mobile number for nearly 15 years+ so don't want to change it.

If you do decide to go elsewhere, you can just ask for your PAC code and get your number moved to your new contract with O2, Orange etc etc so you don't need to worry about that.

Thanks Brodel. Yes I did know but thought I would add it in case people said to go via Quidco to get a new deal. In most of those cases you need to accept having a new number. :)
