2 months fee insurance
£25.40 per month
happy with this as i was paying £40 for 600min/unlimitedtxt/1gb internet on my iphone0 -
I requested my PAC yesterday and today was offered:
12 months sim only
600min
Unlimited texts
500mb internet
and a free SureSignal for £10/month. He was going to up the internet to 1Gb for me which I would obviously have preffered, but it seemed to be a 'computer says no' situation. Hopefully 500mb will be enough...0 -
I might have a vaguely interesting retention "sit and wait" coming up.
I had a simple request; I would like to upgrade to the Nokia E6 - CPW offer it to their personal customers; P4U have it on pre-order, but direct from Vodafone..... Ohhhhhhh no, no, no; we only offer that to our Business Customers.
"PAC code it is then, I am fed up with writing to the CEO to get anything done on Vodafone." - Certainly sir, your PAC number is.......
*** Now if Vodafone were to offer to even match the CPW I would probably say "lets do it" but I don't hold up mutch hope ****Signaller, author, father, carer.0 -
Hi...
My 18 month contract expires in a few months time.
I currently have 2 HTC Desires each with 300mins, unlimited texts, 1GB internet 3G, and 1000 landline minutes for £25 per month, per phone.
When I upgrade I want to go back to a 12 month contract, 18 is just to long to wait for an upgrade.
Any idea what type of ANDROID handset I could get for free or dirt cheap while sticking to a similar bundle ?
I would be prepared to reduce internet 3G to as low as 100MB, but need to keep the current mins and texts.
TIA,
Regards,

Have been having a real pain with getting this deal through cos they always phone when I can't speak or my OH(who owns the contract isn't there)......hopefully will sort it out tommoz when I let my OH have the phone all day!
Still the deal I was offered doesn't seem all that big a discount now
CPW are doing a free Samsung Galaxy s2
500mins , unlim texts, and 500mb data for £31.
I was offered 300min.unl texts,500gb data and free samsung galaxy s2 for an what works out at £28 per month over the life of a 24 month contract.Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Took some inspiration from the sim only deal ‘thelawman’ above posted and thought I’d try my luck.
First I found a deal on the Three network which was for 300 mins, 3000 texts & 1GB Internet on a 12 month contract for a cost of £10 per month. Going via Quidco would have earned £54.55 thus making the deal work out at £5.45 per month over the course of 12 months.
Rang Vodafone and requested PAC and the next day had a call asking why I was leaving and told them that I had seen better deals and told them about the 3 deal. The guy I spoke to said he would not be able to go below £10 per month however he could improve my current sim only deal (which was 300 mins & Unlimited texts – which incidentally was also a cash back via Quidco when I first got it). In the end I accepted:
12 month sim only
600 mins
Unlimited texts
1GB Internet
Free Suresignal
All for £10 per month. Am going to sell the suresignal on ebay for £30-£35, thus making the deal work out at £7.50 (or less) per month over the 12 months0 -
I rang Vodafone yesterday saying I was considering leaving and requested my pac code. The best deal they could offer me was either:
HTC Sensation for £88.83
18 month contract
600 minutes
unlimited text
1 gig of data
£31 per month
OR
Free HTC Sensation
24 month contract
unlimited text
1 gig data
750 wi-fi minutes
2 months insurance (could squeeze them up to 3 months, usually £9.99 per month)
I requested my pac code at the end of the call and no one has called me - apparently they don't do this anymore. What am I doing wrong?! You guys got way better deals!0 -

Well, from past personal experience, there is no right or wrong. What's worked for me in the past is to not give up just because one telephone assistant has been very unhelpful or refuses to budge on price. On one upgrade I had to phone five or six times, speaking to different people before I got a deal I was happy with. This goes for new networks you are thinking of moving to, also, not just upgrades/retentions. Persevere.
Also, it is no guarantee of getting a better deal, but doing some homework and finding some good deals on other networks and/or from third-party suppliers that are roughly what you would be happy with also helps. Anecdotal deals like those mentioned in this thread are fine to quote to them but the ones you can prove by giving them a web address for carry more weight than the ones some guy told you about in a web forum.
More generally, be pleasant and chatty and don't get annoyed or huffy or resentful if the person on the other end of the phone isn't saying what you want to hear. Some assistants are more personable than others, that's just human nature, but getting annoyed or sullen or abrupt with them won't help you get what you want. If they are really unhelpful and not engaging with you at all, just say "Oh well, thanks anyway" hang up and then call back to try and get someone with a better phone manner.
Also, try different ways to access the people who can give you good deals. The Web relations team on vodafones own forums (at vodafone.co.uk) are reportedly very good at tailoring good upgrade deals to each user.
Hope this helps.0 -
Thanks for your help.
In the end I called on Monday. I wanted an 18 month contract. The best they could offer me was:
18 months
300 minutes
unlimited text
750MB data (upgraded from £250)
500MB BT wifi thing
£137 one-off payment for the phone
£26 per month.
Interestingly, they mucked up my order and I had to faff around on Tuesday organising the delivery, so they gave me a £60 credit because of that.
Then on Wednesday morning, the retentions team called me again because I requested my pac code in the weekend. So they DO call you - it just takes a few days. Though I am unsure if they could have offered me a free phone as well on an 18 month contract - on 24 months definitely, but not sure about 18.
I am happy with my deal anyway.... well, when the phone DOES eventually turn up!0 -

I ended up calling them back to re-cancel because I wasn't too happy about the 500mb internet, so they upped it to 1Gb without any problem. Their retentions team seems pretty keen to work out decent deals.0
