Am n vodafone sim only month by month deal and am looking to get a htc desire. Have seen on their web site the desire with 500 mins, 3000 landline , 250 texts and 500mb data for £25 over 24 months. This will be reduced by 20% to £20 pm when I apply my wifes employee discount( not vodafone -her company has a deal with vodafone)

Is this a good deal or would I get better by asking for my pac?

Ohhh...just noticed that deal is a business plan deal so I prb won't get the family discount so nix on that!

    Hello,

My 12-month contract with Vodafone is nearing the end and was wondering if anyone has received any good retention deals from Vodafone? I am currently on the Anytime 125 contract, which is 125 mins and 250 texts for £20 per month. I am hoping to get something similar for a little cheaper. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

If you keep your old phone you can get 300 mins and text for around £10 sim only 12 month contract I think, if you talk to retention you may be able to get it cheaper via cashback etc

Oh don't even get me started on Vodafone. Seriously, come July / August, I am switching.

Having been a customer of theirs for almost a decade, I can quite honestly say they have gone downhill with a capital D.

I've been having network problems for the past 6 months with the network dropping my calls. They tell me it's my SIM Card, send me a new SIM, still affects my phone. They tell me it's my mobile - I stick it in a Blackberry - same problem.

In fact, on two occasions, I am there, trying to make an emergency (999) call and they drop my calls. When I rung them up afterwards, their customer service woman made me feel stupid - like I was over-reacting. Oh it was probably because you were in a congested area and it could happen to anyone, 999 or not, it's not just you you know.

Thanks.. So the next time that customer service agent is being chased by the !!!!!, being mugged or being robbed - I hope for the love of God that she does not have someone that has a Vodafone mobile nearby.

Emailed, kicked up a fuss about this with Vodafone and guess what their amazing response was?

"Next time this happens, take the battery out, give the SIM card a good wipe, put it back in, go to settings and do a manual network search"....

WHEN MAKING A 999 CALL!?!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY WHAT!?!?

Then the other day, I was able to hear other people's conversations on the network. This included someone talking to their bank (RBS - poor them), someone leaving a voice mail on an office phone and a mother talking to a son.

Great - with my new found ability (being with Vodafone) in phone tapping I can work for MI5 now.

Despite all these problems, constant ringing, emailing, etc, they have never got back to me when they said they would. Nor do they really care to be honest.

The best bit was when someone from their customer relations rung me up after I sent a complaint to their head office about these dropped calls. Ironically, mid-conversation, our call was dropped!!!

But what's worse - was that despite me saying that our call might be dropped (which it of course, did), he never bothered to ring me back.

I'm seriously fed up with Vodafone, and I have a myriad of unsolved issues with them, let alone their lousy customer services. So yeah, I'm with you on that one - don't go with Vodafone (unless you're working for MI5 or the !!!!! and never need to ring the emergency services).

    Hi sonyhamster,

I'm genuinely sorry to read about your dissatisfaction with the level of service which you've received over the last few months but thanks for making me aware.

Without knowing which area you've experienced dropped calls and other network problems in or having access to your airtime account to look into the other concerns which you've raised here it's not really possible for me to comment further.

However, I'd certainly like to try and assist you here and so to enable me to do this could you email your details across via the Contact us form on our website here quoting WRT135 - FAO Lee in the subject line.

When sending the email could you also provide me with your MSE username so I can correspond it with your post?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

  • Had retentions call me yesterday afternoon.

    Free Nokia N8
    600 mins
    Unlimited txt
    500mb internet

£20 a month for 24 months, total cost £25 a month with Vodafone Family which can be removed at any time -sweet.

Thought that was pretty decent, collecting the phone Monday from a Vodafone shop.
  • My £25 pm (1200 mins, unlimited landline calls, 500mb data, unlimited texts) VF 12 month sim-only contract came to an end and this is what i managed to haggle on a new 12 month sim-only deal to use with my iphone 4:

    900 mins
    1000 mins to landlines
    1gb data
0800/0870/0845 calls included (coming out of 900 mins)
    unlimited texts

    ALL FOR £15 A MONTH!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi, thanks for this. Last week partner was offered the same deal but for £25 for 24 months (without Vodafone family). Didn't think it was such a good deal so he declined it - will be ringing back now and try and get deal you've had. Cheers
  • I think VF family sealed the price... though I can remove it after 30 days if I want!

How did you get that?! They wouldn't offer me more than 300 mins, 3000 texts and 500mb on a 12 month SIM only contract for £15. Plus I pay them an extra fiver for 100 international texts too. Seems to depend who you speak to after you've requested your PAC?
I have a bog standard phone, not an iPhone too - assume you didn't buy your iPhone from Voda.

I forgot to mention that i have 2 Vodafone sim-only plans and its my second line (used by myself) which they heavily discounted...on the first line (for OH) i'm paying £20 pm for 1200 mins/500mb internet/unlimited landline calls but i'm only 6 months through that plan. VF defintely give discounts on 2 or more lines (called Household Discount Plan), it will be at least £5 pm though i managed to get £10 off; they were originally asking for £20pm for 900 mins, 1000 landline mins, 1gb internet, 0870/0845/0800 calls + unlimited texts. I didn't ask for PAC or threaten to leave them, i was very polite and lovey dovey with them though I had to beg and plead with them a lot to get this price though:p

Yes that's right i bought the iphone 4 sim free a few months ago from Apple directly (£499).
