A bit of advise is take the phone( which ever) and then negotiate again for a better deal, always send back the first phone, and get it replaced with better

12 months contract
750 mins
unltd texts
free landline calls
500 mb data
£25 pm
So I stayed with them0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm coming to the end of an 18 month, £35/month contract. I'd like to reduce that rental charge. I'm particularly interested in the Galaxy S. Has anyone had any retention deals for the Samsung Galaxy S?
Any tips for getting the best deal?

That doesn't sound like a great deal to me TBH. Vodafone are known for screwing over existing customers through sub-standard 'retention' deals and offer really good deals online for new customers.
A case in point.. I used to pay £35 per month for 500 mins 500 txts. Their amazing retention deal was a new phone with 500 mins and 500 txt for £35.
But ONLINE, they were offering a far better mobile phone for 600 mins, unlimited txts AND internet for £25. I rung them up and they said... sorry, I can't give you that deal, but what you can do, is if you want to keep your number, switch to a PAYG on another network and switch back again.
I just couldn't be bothered to do all that, so I asked them to give me my MAC code and I'd move. About a week later their 'retentions team' decided to give me the £25 deal.
How pathetic is that!? And considering the small fortune that I pay, the customer service is totally rubbish. They're happy to fob you off, saying they'll ring you back - for which they never.
To add injury to insult, for 6 months I received sales calls from them, asking me to take out another contract for my mum and dad - despite me asking them to be taken off every time. It took a rather stern email to their head office over four months ago for this to be finally sorted.
So yeah, my suggestion is shop around for a provider with a better deal, better customer service and a provider who treats you as a loyal customer, as a loyal customer - not some lowlife.0 -

Oh don't even get me started on Vodafone. Seriously, come July / August, I am switching.
Having been a customer of theirs for almost a decade, I can quite honestly say they have gone downhill with a capital D.
I've been having network problems for the past 6 months with the network dropping my calls. They tell me it's my SIM Card, send me a new SIM, still affects my phone. They tell me it's my mobile - I stick it in a Blackberry - same problem.
In fact, on two occasions, I am there, trying to make an emergency (999) call and they drop my calls. When I rung them up afterwards, their customer service woman made me feel stupid - like I was over-reacting. Oh it was probably because you were in a congested area and it could happen to anyone, 999 or not, it's not just you you know.
Thanks.. So the next time that customer service agent is being chased by the !!!!!, being mugged or being robbed - I hope for the love of God that she does not have someone that has a Vodafone mobile nearby.
Emailed, kicked up a fuss about this with Vodafone and guess what their amazing response was?
"Next time this happens, take the battery out, give the SIM card a good wipe, put it back in, go to settings and do a manual network search"....
WHEN MAKING A 999 CALL!?!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY WHAT!?!?
Then the other day, I was able to hear other people's conversations on the network. This included someone talking to their bank (RBS - poor them), someone leaving a voice mail on an office phone and a mother talking to a son.
Great - with my new found ability (being with Vodafone) in phone tapping I can work for MI5 now.
Despite all these problems, constant ringing, emailing, etc, they have never got back to me when they said they would. Nor do they really care to be honest.
The best bit was when someone from their customer relations rung me up after I sent a complaint to their head office about these dropped calls. Ironically, mid-conversation, our call was dropped!!!
But what's worse - was that despite me saying that our call might be dropped (which it of course, did), he never bothered to ring me back.
I'm seriously fed up with Vodafone, and I have a myriad of unsolved issues with them, let alone their lousy customer services. So yeah, I'm with you on that one - don't go with Vodafone (unless you're working for MI5 or the !!!!! and never need to ring the emergency services).0 -

That really isn't on. I'm really put off by them now - I mean, how can they possibly get away with it?
I used to have shares with them and they paid pretty good dividends... But if they continue to be like this, I can't see them paying any dividends within 5 years after they start losing their customers.0 -

Free HTC Desire HD
600 Minutes
Unlimited Texts
1GB Data
Free Sure Signal box (signal at my current address is a little dodgy at times so thought it best to try this out as I managed to get it free)
£25.54 pm
Very happy as the web relations team couldn't match this offer by a long shot.
This deal would make me stay - I am currently on 1200 mins, unlimited texts and 500MB data. Want the HD Desire too... could sacrifice most of the minutes, but would want 1GB Data. The SureSignal thing seems good too as get awful signal in our house.
What are anybody's thoughts on getting this deal replicated? The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...0
