Contract expires at the end of the month so managed to get 300 mins and unlimited texts (sim-only deal as I am happy with my current handset I got 1 year ago) for £10 per month on a 12 month contract. I was hoping to get some internet allowance thrown in but not to be. Couldn't be bothered with the time and hassle of threatening to leave, asking for my PAC code etc to get a small amount of internet allowance thrown in when I only use it to check the football scores on a Saturday! Fairly happy with the new deal.

Oh and the upgrade team member was helpful and friendly enough, even though he didn't add on some data usage for me!

Just managed to get BB Torch on 18 month contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb internet for £30 per month.
  • My 24 month contract with Vodafone is about to expire. I rang Vodafone today and spoke to the Upgrades dept to see what upgrade options they could offer me.

I currently have a Blackberry Storm and would like to upgrade to iPhone 4 (32g). The person who I spoke to told me that all the Vodafone iphone deals are non-negotiable.

Is this true? Has anyone managed to negotiate a better iPhone deal than the ones advertised by Vodafone?

Apple set the iPhone tariff prices for the phone networks which is why they're all similar. No phone network is allowed to move even an inch from this price. Reason? Apple don't want iPhones to be sold on a cheap tariff because they want it to keep its exclusive image for as long as possible. You won't get anywhere trying to haggle with Vodafone on an iPhone unfortunately, but this is because of Apple, not them.

Were these deals from the upgrades department or retentions?
I'm after the exact same deal that you and a few others have got with the Desire HD for £25 a month. Every time i call they say that they can only do it for £35 a month and not £25.

Was the upgrades department. The deal I got was pretty much what I was after. Everything I asked for, I got. I didn't really have to negotiate anything. In fact, the Desire HD was coming with 300 minutes and got 600. The Blackberry 600 minutes but got 900. Can't complain really.
I must add that the main reason I got the Desire HD for £25 was by agreeing to take out insurance at £9.99 per month. The first month is free but can be cancelled within 14 days (apparently????)
  • I have lurched many times on this forum so its only fair I share my experience.

I phoned up and requested PAC code.

    Two days later retentions phoned.

    Eventually offered

    Free Motorola Defy
    600 mins
    unltd texts
    500MB internet
    unlimited Vodafone to vodafone calls
    100 Picture messages

from £23 a month on 24 month contract.

The unlimited voda to voda were the clincher for me. Defy is quite a nice phone but its no iphone. Android apps are good but nothing like iphone at present. However the price difference is major.

Previous contact was a retention as above for £17 a month with no phone. I never went over my limit but came close.

I have had the phone for a week and for peace of mind phoned up cs and asked for my contract details - so this is definately the deal.
  • I'm trying to switch from O2 to Vodafone, going for Desire HD on 35pp + cashback.

My iphone 3g is starting to die... the music jack seems to be broken, as the Music sounds muffled.

I might get another 15 ppm sim only deal for my wife, recycle the iphone and get something like HTC wildfire.
  • I have just been offered the Desire (not the HD) with 600 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb of internet for £25 per month so I've taken this deal. Spoke to the upgrade dept who were very helpful.

Hope I've done the right thing!
