Voda are making it really hard work to cancel my upgrade and get my PAC code!
Just spoke with Phyllis (Warington) at Customer Service. Very helpful!!0 -
I have read through the last dozen or so pages, and interesting to see how many deals fluctuate. I am coming towards the end of an 18month contract with Vod, I am paying £35 per month (was £17.50 for first 10 months with spec online deal), giving me 600mins, unl txts, 1gb int on the nokia 5800 xpress music.
Although I am not due for an upgrade in Jan, I was told I can upgrade online only as its within 180 days. I am particularily interested in the THC HD or Iphone 4. But some of the online deals I have come accross are been a little more/little incentive to want to upgrade. I.e They are all £35 per month, 600 mins, 3,000 texts, 500mb int accross 18 months...with a £80 charge for the handset to.
I dont use the 600 mins anymore, in fact I could proably half that and would prefer unlimited texts. This deal posted seems to be the best one I have see:
"Free HTC Desire HD
300 mins
Unlimited texts
500 meg data
for £20 a month on a 24 month contract"
Would it be advisable that I wait until January before contacting them as they state its only "online" I can upgrade at the moment or could I possibly be entitled to an upgrade now?Target- clear £1000 student overdraft by Jan 11
Student Loan 19,000 (Starting to pay back December)

The upgrading early is a way to tie you into another contract whilst not offering a very competitive deal.
This is almost never worth doing, as far better deals will become available within the last 30 days when actually have the leverage of canceling your contract.0 -
Hi Jamie
The offer of the desire was offered by upgrade at £25 for 300m and unlimited then £30 for 600 etc. With the PAC people £5 off per month sorry to say just get PAC code and leave that only way.0 -

Hi there
I have recently asked for my PAC code from Vodafone when they didn't offer me a good deal other than those online - I was abit dissapointed to say the least as I switched to Vodafone initially as they gave good value for customer loyalty - my OH had his tariff price reduced from £35 to £17.50 after the first year. When I have called up, I have been offered no deals at all - in fact, no-one even contacted me to say that I was due for an upgrade!
I have a rusty K770i which is on its last legs, and was on the 600 mins and unlimited text message package, which was £30 a month, now I am on SIM only which is 900 mins, unlimited text message and interest for £25 (I think but it always go slightly over because of picture messaging or something!), whilst I decide which deal to go with. I actually only need 500 minutes, unlimited text messages and internet. Wanted to go for the iphone 4 but didn't want to spend above £30 a month so wanted a good deal with HTC Desire or something. I actually have purchased the SIM Only deal from Tesco but need a phone!
I saw on the Orange website that they are giving 400 mins, unlimited text messages and internet for under £30 a month with the HTC Desire at the moment (think £27.50).
Because most contacts are 24 month, don't want my phone to be too old!
Appreciate any advice!0
