Vodafone Retention Deals

I was offered the following deal by retentions today:
Free HTC Desire HD
300 mins
Unlimited texts
500 meg data
for £20 a month on a 24 month contract.
I wanted 1GB of data but even if I have to pay £5 a month for an extra 500MB it still matches the T-mobile deal I was going to get through mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, so I was happy to take the deal. Just need to wait for them to come back in stock now!0 -
was that really the desire HD ???0

Yes, definitely the HD; I have had an email confirming the details. The phone is on pre-order at the moment, they're saying 7-10 days.0

I'm sorry if we weren't able to help get you a better deal. I am a little concerned though as I'm under the impression we can at least do cheaper than our Webstore offers in most cases. Do you know which member of the team you spoke to out of Ben, Helen, Ian, Jay, Matt or Paul at all? The only devices we can't beat are obviously the iPhone and currently a lot of the Samsung Galaxy-S plans (as these already have a limited offer discount in place).
I wrote down what I was offered on paper and the person who I spoke to DEFINITELY only offered me the same as what a new online customer could have got for HTC Desire. He/she only offered the following and said that's the best they could do:
£35 600min unlim txt 500mb data 18months
or
£30 600min unlim txt 500mb data 24months
I do remember who called me since that's the first thing he/she told me when I first picked up but I'm not going to call that person out for it doesn't matter that much to me anymore since I am planning to go with T-Mobile in the next few days.0 -

WOW
i was told £99 and £35 mth cheapest offer,
due you mind me asking but are you a heavey user? or do your bills not very much from the tarrif
because to be honest if the right tarrif is chosen in the first place it never should.
thanks0 -
No I'm not a heavy user. I'm on the same tariff at the moment i.e. 300 mins and texts and 500MB data, but I'm currently paying £30 a month for it. So I'm getting a new Desire HD and £10 off my monthly bill - very happy0

cheers for that
Right mr.vodafone so far my mum & wife have had calls from at least 2 different numbers saying there vodafone, and a text saying they will get there pac number but still i get no text.
numbers that have called so far are
008080024636
08080000133
the number ending 636 didnt have my number but asked the wife if she could give it to them, but if they are vodafone how do they not have this information?
the number ending 133 did have my number but when i did get chance to answer it the line was quiet and hung up
can you advise?0 -
Used my pac as vodafone had very poor offers, gone to giffgaff now where I will wait for a suitable offer on a phone I want.
All in I have been very diappointed with vodafones recent handling of the "out of bundle" charging announcement and now pants offers to keep my custom.Wins:

Dec - Klean Kanteen water bottle
Nov - TWS1 Edifier headphones0 -
Hiya we have been with voda for 10 years and the offers are so poor they say the offers are individual. No way they are No good. The web team say they will call And they call once miss call and they never try again. The upgrade team offer say they will call next day and guess what no call. My wife and I upgraded together 18 months ago and there is a two month upgrade gap. This just sums how They don't want to keep there customers.0

I think the deals are individual as i got the galaxy S from the web retentions for £16 handset and £20 a month with 300 mins/unlimited texts. Though i've gone over my limit alot the past 4 years so maybe their computer system took that into account!
anyway web retentions, one issue, I was told for my agreed deal that my data allowance was 500mb but when i log into the my account section it says my plan is 250mb. Can you explain this?0
