Vodafone Retention Deals

Sean Dean: Definitely ask for the 6300 free aswell, chances are as it's old you will get it, if and when they agree to give you the phone then go on to push them for line rental at a tenner aswell - don't know if you don't ask. :rolleyes:thanks philng. i was given the option to stick with my current: 200 mins + 250 txt @ £26.50 for 18 months
or £20 for 100 mins and 50 or 100 txt i think.
so how do these others get it for £20 with more mins and txt etc!?!?!
p1tse: Keeping pushing for what you want, 18 months ago (about to renew myself hopefully) I managed to squeeze this deal out of VF.
I got 75 mins +50%extra mins (so 112.5mins), STC, VP, and 500 texts, and a D900 - which at the time was brand new just released at the time, all for £20pm.
They ought to offer you better than that, unless they're getting complacent since I last renewed. Just state exactly what you want when you speak to them, be polite but bullish about it, and if you manage to agree something.. double check after the agreements made that you've got what you wanted by calling 191 again, as they carefully forgot my STC and 500 texts for the first month.0 -
thanks chris_t, i will stick to my guns, but as they couldn't offer anything better i just said politely i'll just wait for my pac. so no second call yet.0

That's what I had to do to get a decent deal out of them, I think I got the call a week or so after I requested it. I spoke to the guy, basically just asked what I wanted and what my maximum price was, and kept trying to get it less, countless holds while he spoke to his senior, and then eventually at the end of the call, essentially the last minute asked what phone I wanted, and like that it was done.
Once the call comes, I'd say be prepared for a long one
Let me know how it goes, I'd be interested as I want renew very soon.0 -
will do. requested pac last week 5/06/08 i think and then had a call on 6/06/08, but as they would not budge on my current tariff wanting the n95 8gb, i just left it with i'll wait for my pac.
outbound said they would give phone free.
but for £20 it would only get something like 100 mins and 50 txt i think.
i've got two contracts with them, with current total average being about £50/month over the 18 month contract, they'll be loosing my £900 custom if nothing can be arrange. i've been with them for over 8 years now! so opportunity cost lost for them.
plus other family will probably move as well. so alot loss their end i feel.
i'm not being unrealistic, just seeing what some others have managed to get and being a loyal customer gets me nothing so far.0 -
Ah right, well hopefully they call you back with a much better deal, but personally I see that £20pm offer as a bit of a slap in the face, got to be one of the worst deals I've heard of, even if you were getting the n95 with it.
I feel like they'll probably realise pretty soon that your custom is quite important bringing that much in, although admittedly probably pocket money to VF.
I totally agree that you're not being unrealistic at all, because to be honest the tariff you're already on, I feel like that should be cheaper too, never mind if you're asking for a new phone or not.
When you get the next call and if you're still not happy with their offer, or they plain don't call you, I'd recommend popping over to the VF eForum and just posting something along the lines of being extremely unhappy at what has been offered - the eForum team then will probably ask you to contact them and they seem to be much more helpful/better at resolving situations.
Alternatively, have you thought about accepting another phone such as the samsung soul or lg secret? Then if you're dead set on the n95 (sounds like you are) you could sell this other phone on ebay and buy the n95!? - as they're all going for roughly the same price. I feel they're probably more likely to offer you what you want with those other phones, but there again, ebay is always a bit of a gamble.0 -
thanks again. well i had a missed call, due to driving, from 08080000133.
might try the eforum. they didn't even try to offer a better tariff rate, i even asked about if i stayed with mine can i get free internet thrown in, or even half price line rental for x months, but had a plain no, and didn't want to play ball.
i'm not really wanting to play ball etc. so might try eforum, or just go else where and take the family with me on that.0 -
Hi!
I'm kinda in the same boat. My contract with Vodafone is due to finish on the 11th of june! i requested my PAC code yesterday and recieved a call from the above 0808 number but the call got cut off for some reason. I've been waiting for another call but not recieved anything yet!
How likely is it to expect a call back from them?
I am currently on the £5 a month scheme (due to Mobile Connections going bankcrupt) and i get 500 mins & 250 txts & STC & VP. I really want either the N95 or the k850i or the samsung soul ,I dont want to be paying more than £15 a month for the contract (due to me being a student). I wanted to know realisticly, what deal could i expect from Voda?
* i know that another person on this forum was on the same deal and got the N95 for £15 per month on a 12 month contract, would it be worth mentioning this? ;*

i think you got to be careful. if you read carefully some of these people got offered it by retention, but when it came to enquiry, it wasn't on the computer.
if i were you stick with the £5/month and just purchase a phone you want from ebay etc.
also try to get yourself a free phone, you can at least sell it.
i asked for best deal possible on £20/month with free n95 8gb, and they weren't having it on first call. i missed my call and guess they will phone back, if not go somewhere else and get my family to change too0 -
SK82, I imagine it's quite likely they'll call you back again as from my experience they pestered me, so shouldn't be too long before another comes around.
But if they are not increasing your line rental at the end of your contract (11th june), then £5pm is a brilliant deal for the amount your getting, and I'd agree with p1tse and just stick with the £5pm and get a phone you want off ebay (samsung soul's are going for between 150-200 atm).
If when you speak to them, they say that you could stay on the £5pm deal - see what phones you could get free by staying on it but re-committing and selling that could put some money towards buying the phone you want (but could even get the soul free I reckon).
It could be worth mentioning the deal that someone else got but they base it on your monthly spends, so they could have been paying a lot more than you are currently, worth a shot though I'd say - along with quoting some other network deals.0 -
Hi Guys,
Im nearly at the end of my contract and im just looking at what people are getting. p1tse, sounds like your spitting your dummy a bit mate with the old get my whole family to change. The cheapest ive found a n95 8gb is 35pm 12 month contract, has anyone found cheaper (as a new subscriber, although 60 topcashback aswell). Im on 200min, 250 txt + stc 12 month, gonna push for a secret i think on 12 month.0
