I have just finished negotiating my retention deal and managed to get 200 x-net mins 250 texts, stop the clock and Vodafone Passport and a new 5mp Samsung G600 for £12.50 per month inclusive of vat, I think this not too bad a deal?

    Cheers

My OH is on same contract at the moment without the passport feature over 12months, which I am about to start negotiations on. She is currently paying £12.50 and they threw in a Samsung Z720.
We would like to stay on same deal with another phone thrown in, they indicated on inital call (Upgrades team) that we could stay on the same tariff for the same price for 12mths but no phone. I am going to send my letter of cancellation in to get my call from retentions this week.
My question is did you use any other network deal as a comparrison and what phones did they offer you ? How much bargaining did you have to do ? is the contract 12mths or 18 mths ?

12 months into an 18 month contract and I wanted to upgrade price plan as well as get a new phone (only have a 2g phone at the moment and need a 3g phone as I use the 'net on my phone quite regularly) , however VF (well the guy I spoke to at least) would not entertain the idea of getting a new phone (which is a bit disappointing given I have been with VF for about 7 years) so my question is:

Is it possible to buy out the last 6 months of my contract (6 x monthly charge on a 1 time payment) and leave with my current phone number immediately or not ??

    Cheers!

I didn't have to do too much bargaining as he asked why I wanted to leave, I just said that I didn't think I would get the same deal as I already have and that I needed a new phone as mine was a bit bruised and battered and he offered a couple of models but what I really wanted was the same contract deal as I have not seen a better one around anywhere even with the silly redemption ones that I would not touch with a barge pole. I did the usual write the letter to terminate contract and request PAC code and they rung me and offered the deal, all I said was that I want it all confirmed in writing to save any hassle later it is on a 18 month contract which I was on originally so I am happy wioth that.

Also Bettingmad if I was you I would use O2 as a comparison as I know Vodafone and O2 are fighting each other for the top market share and best perceived brand.

Just got what i think is a good deal. Nokia E51(inbuilt Wlan & hopefully decent battery life) for £17.50(15 months) with 500mins/100text and mobile internet included(normally £5 a month). Up to now I have had cashback deals but it all got a bit messy when i wanted a phone with WiFi and mobile internet in the contract.
Thought about a phone with built-in GPS but decided an in car satnav is a better option and i can use google maps with my free internet access for the odd occasion in the street when I might need it.

My girlfriend rang them awhile back has got a confirmed cancel date for tomorrow. She pays £30 a month, not even had a phone call from them.

    Oh well off to 3 then..... 1100 mins/texts £20 per month - Nokia 6500 Slide + Quidco + Refer a Friend..... less than £15 a month.

I rang 191 and requested my PAC code, lady asked why I was leaving so I said that o2 have better deals, better phones and cheaper line rental (I currently pay £40 per month with Vodafone). She said that my PAC has been requested on the system and I should have it in 2-3 days!!!

Not at ANY stage did she try to offer me any deal/upgrade to retain my custom. I’m hoping that if/when I get a call from the outbound retention department then they try a little harder than she did to keep my custom.

Inspired by this thread and having phoned 191 a few times and made comparisons of deals offered by O2 and T Mobile, I've just made my final call to Vodafone.

Have kept my deal of 200mins, 250 texts and stop the clock for £25/mth but they wanted me to pay £58 for an N95 8GB (I particularly wanted this phone!).

They said that this was the best they could do but when pushed agreed to throw in unlimited internet too. Always good to compare other networks and also keep persevering. This was my third call and the first one was useless.
I didn't really want to pay for the phone but will get some cash back by trading my other one online and also have £135 worth of internet thrown in free so I'm pleased. Can't wait til the phone comes tomorrow!
