    but sureley the t-mobile is dearer 24*£20 a month = £480 - £80 cash back 24 = £400

    vodafone 15*20 £300 plus £30*3 £90 = £390 for 18 months

    or am I missing something?

Yes, you are comparing the cost of 15 months with the cost of 18 months. Over 15 months :

    T-Mobile = 15 *20 - 80 = 220
    Voda = ( 12 * 20 ) + ( 3 * 30 ) = 330

At month 16, yes I am on a T-Mobile contact @ £20 pm for 6 months, whereas I would be out of contract with Voda at that stage. But I'll be £110 better off at that stage. And judging by the retentions offered by Voda this time round, at month 16 (had I stayed) they'd have been charging full whack, or close to, for any new contract started at month 16.

I see your point you could of however downgraded the vodafone to a sim only after the 18 months for £20 a month still the t-mobile deal is very good also and i just noticed with t-mobile that your getting landlines too thats definetly worth it
  • Still on sims only - as it stands, I could get this by upgrading online.

    900mins
    Unlimited text
    500Mb Internet
    Blackberry 9700 (15 pounds)
    18month, 20 quid a month.

Will wait until I could get PAC though. Already tried upgrading to iPhone but didn't work out. :o

I just got offered Samsung Galaxy S, 300 min, Unlimited txt and 500mb internet on a 24 month contract for £20pm. Handset was £29 but he waved delivery and included the Mclaren Backpack in with the bundle as there wasnt any 4gb memory cards in stock - as originally agreed.

I have taken this deal as I dont mind paying £20 per month and would much rather do this than pay £25 a month.

    UPDATE!

half an hour before I took this deal I was offered the Galaxy S, 300 mins, Unlimited txts and 500mb internet on an 18 month contract @ £25pm. Handset would have cost £20. I told the advisor that I would have a think about it and ring back.

30 mins later, and I ring back. The advisor who I was speaking to said that the last deal hadnt been noted on the system and that he was not able to offer such a deal. But he was only able to offer me the above ( What I had taken ). ( Basically I was lying? ).

Anyways, someone I know was offered the exact deal that I was offered the first time. I was told this today, and felt so angry.

I have just come off the phone to Vodafone to tell them of my disgust. I told them that if nothing was done, then I will be sending the handset back and cancelling. I was put on hold for 10 minutes while the advisor went to sort it out.

The advisor then came back on the phone and said he had spoken to his manager and told me he had changed my contract to an 18 month contract. He then went onto say he was not going to change my price plan as the inconvenience it has caused me! I was so thankful!!!!

So now I have a Samsung Galaxy S, 300 mins, Unlimited txts and 500mb internet for £20pm for 18 months. Handset was £29. What a deal! Works out at £389 over the term! THANK YOU VODAFONE!

Wow, it does look like they're making it up as they go along - they told my OH that they weren't going to get any 16gb Galaxy S's & despite him asking several different people, they couldn't budge on the handset cost of £88.13! >:(

Glad you got a got a good deal though, might get OH to try the same thing as Matt1987 now!

As I got offered that with 600 mins, unlimited texts and data, it's not the best offer they can do

Vodafone dont do unlimited data, its either 500mb or 1gb.
  • I'm eligible for an upgrade now and I'm not feeling very hopeful after reading all your posts! At the moment I pay just under £20 a month for 100 mins and 300 txt plus unlmt internet. I really want the Samsung Galaxy and on a 18 month contract for no more than £25 but I can't see it happening! Went in the shop and they said £30 minimum a month. I have been with VP for 8+ years (as long as I had a mobile never moved) and I also get the feeling the new customers are more important - once they have you they are not bothered.

Will update with what I get offered when I ring thru - might leave it tho until the contract is nearer it's end so I can get a PAC if it comes to that. I have never changed mobile provider so no idea what I am meant to do with it once I have it!
