    DO NOT DEAL WITH "UPGRADES".

You need to deal with "RETENTIONS".

    They are 2 seperate departments.

Upgrades are there to tie you to a new contract without giving much away. It is retentions who can offer the better deals.

If you are in the last 30 days of your contract, phone up vodafone and select or ask for cancellations.

When talking to cancellations they will ask you why you want to leave.

Tell them you are not happy with what upgrades have offered you.

They will ask you if they can take a look for you.( Their offer may be better OR worse than "UPGRADES" )

Let them take a look, and see if you like what they offer. Obviously if you like their offer then take it. If you don't, tell them what you are looking for, then see if they can match you request.

If you cannot come to an agreement with them, tell them that you will leave it, and ask them for your PAC number. "BUT" only if you are in the last 30 days of your contract.

After requesting you pac code, they will tell you that they will TEXT it to you in the next couple of days.

Upon receiving your code, leave it about a week or so, ( maybe less ) then you should receive a call from "RETENTIONS". This is when you should be able to negotiate your best deal, as this is the department who can be more flexible.

Don't forget, when you receive this call, "THEY HAVE CALLED YOU". Why????. Because they want to keep your business.

Please note, just asking for, and receiving your pac code, does not mean you have given notice to leave. It just means you have the required documentation, to give to a new mobile phone company, should you choose to do so within 30 days of asking for your code.

This is one of the best ways to get your best deal. If you do not like any offer at this stage, then you need to decide whether to stay or go.

I wish you all the best and hope I have been of help.

    Albert.:):)

Thanks ever so much for this, Albert - we'll give this a go! :T

    I've been Money Tipped!
I've just been offered an HTC Wildfire on a 12 month contact for £17.50 a month for 600 minutes, unlimited texts and internet, what do you think of this offer?

looks good. Is that price AFTER the 50% discount. I ask as according to some posts on here they have a habit of forgetting to apply it

    I have just been offered:

    600 mins
    unl texts
    unl internet
    24 month contract

Free Samsung Galaxy S for £30pm
Free Blackberry Bold for £25 per month.

I did decline and was fairly insulted by this. This is exactly what new customer get online - how ridiculous. Thats loyalty for you isnt it!!! I have been with Vodafone nigh on 9 years now, and have 5 lines on my account. I told him that what he was offering was disgusting, and that I will be cancelling next month.

Vodafone - get your act together and give something back to your loyal customers.

Its not even an offer - its just a bog standard tariff they have on their website. I am sick to death of Vodafone. Constantly messing me around, network coverage is shocking to say the least and call centre staff that think they know it all. If they are not careful they will lose all my business!

To top it all off, I had an automated phone call shortly after. It was some sort of customer satisfaction survey about the last phone call. Press 1 - 5 with 1 being the worst.

I hit 1 for all questions, and then left a few comments. Whether it will go anywhere is a different matter - but I feel a bit insulted by what they offered today and that " this is the best you will get " attitude.

Well after a lot more haggling with Retentions in the last few days, my husband has finally accepted the following deal from Vodafone:

    300mins
    Unlimited texts
    500mb Internet
    24 month contract
    £19.99 per month
    £88.13 for Samsung Galaxy S (8gb)

It's not quite what he was trying to get (1gb internet & free phone too), but it's close enough. For anyone trying to get the same deal, use this T Mobile deal to compare it to:

    http://www.buymobilephones.net/mobile-phones/Samsung/Samsung-i9000-Galaxy-S/T-Mobile/T-Mobile-20-%2824mths%29/6068706

Of course this ^ is the better deal (+ £30 cashback through Quidco) but we can't get a T Mobile signal at home, hence sticking with Vodafone. It worked well for haggling purposes though!

Btw don't go into a Vodafone Store trying to get this deal, they told us that they can only sell fixed price plans. Not sure if that's true or not but it might save somebody a wasted trip!

Good luck to the rest of you,
    Emily xx.
