Vodafone Retention Deals

Anyone know when Vodafone upgrades will have the HTC Desire? Been waiting about a week now.0
-
Retentions told me that htc have run out of the desires and are trying to source the screen component to carry on production, it will most likely be a long time before it's back in stock
The Samsung Galaxy is a better than the desire, bigger better screen(can handle sun glare and is 4"), bigger memory galaxy has 16gb internal memory plus expansion slot, wheras desire has only 500mb internal, rest of specs are similar0 -

I hope Vodafone are wrong and the desire is available at the end of August, 'cos that's when I can upgrade.
The galaxy s is a good phone and it does come with 16GB of memory, there's also a 32GB version, but the camera has no flash and I read that HTC's implementation of the Android OS is better than Samsungs.
I'll have to wait anyway, so I'm hoping the desire will be in stock at the end of August or the beginning of September.

My new Desire upgrade from Vodafone has been despatched and will arrive tomorrow, so maybe they have had a small delivery today.0

I am not a vodafone user but am thinking of changing from Orange.
After following the comments by very loyal users it seems that Vodafone retention department are not valuing them proplery.
However I must having an offical rep on this site shows some commitment from their side.
This leads me to a bit skeptical of whether to join the company.
ONE QUESION: Is there any downgrading polciy for Vodafone? I want to take out a 30/month iphone 3gs contract and was wondering when if I can downgrade the tariff plan during the contract.0 -
Vodafone do not allow downgrading of contracts anymore.
And a totally personal opinion: avoid them, their online account management is a total joke (half of it doesn't work properly) and CS is appalling. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Today I signed up to the best deal from web relation team
900 minutes, unlimited texts, passport, 5mb free euro roaming data
Free Samsung Galaxy S handset
18 month contract
£35/month for 15 months then £40/month for the last 3 months
You can only get this deal from the web relations team, retensions team couldn't offer this deal, they said it was physically impossible for them, inbound and outbound retensions have the worst deals and often mis-sel you contarcts as they get comission, web relations don't get comission.0 -
I've just been speaking to the web relations team and all they could offer me was
HTC Desire for £80
£17.50/months for 9 months
£35/month for remaining 9 months
600 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb data
My contract doesn't run out for 3 months though and am in the territory of "early upgrade". Can I get better?
I'd prefer the Galaxy S to be honest aswell0 -
This post is on the 'HTC Desire - best deals I've found' thread. Can any one else confirm being offered this sought of deal ?

Hi...
That's interesting.
So they say they wont charge you if you go over - how much over can you go before they do begin to charge you - 3GB ?
Did you get this in writing ?, 'cos they do tend to promise the earth in order to get you to stay then go back on their word ?
Please get back and let me know, 'cos if you do have that in writing £20 a month over 18 months, a free HTC Desire, 600 mins & Unlimited texts, and unlimited (3GB+ ?) internet is a cracking deal.
BTW, did you ask to collect the phone, I'm assuming from a Vodafone store, or did they insist you collect.
TIA,
