Vodafone Retention Deals

Have you called CS to confirm all this ? Vodafone are well known for promising you a great deal and then signing you up for something completely different. Check that the discount is for the length of the contract and the allowance is as stated. Sorry to put a downer on it but I have seen to many posts that start with Vodafone lied to me.0

My last contract was with carphone warehouse which included the PS3, My new contract does not include a PS3 but does give a good phone and is direct with Vodaphone.
I can confirm the contract i told you about for £17.50 is fully legit and verified.
Yes it took me hours and hours to sort it out, and i took down every persons name and surname and some of there extension numbers to help prevent anyone at Vodafone calling me a liar.
I did have to randomly call the 191 (free from your Vodafone handset) number trying to get connected to just one person, a Mr Ben Hughes who worked in the STOKE office as he was the only guy who knew about this deal and he was the one who could give my partner the same deal. (I signed my contract with him, but then my girlfriend had to phone Vodafone and give me access to sign her up for a contract in her name as she works long hours and has not got the time for messing around with phone companies)
So i got through to the stoke office, asked someone else to put me through to him, which they did and I got the second contract.
After he had repeated over and over again to me the details of the contract (i asked him to) we both received text messages from the Mr Hughes whilst on the phone to him confirming the contracts - A FREE HTC Desire, 900 minutes, Unlimited text and internet - £17.50 for the life of the contract (24 months)
We will have to wait upto a week for the phones to be delivered as they were out of stock when we took out the contract yesterday.
Word of warning, when you phone you have no idea what office you will get (Belfast, Stoke, Cardiff...etc) It's just luck.
When i got through to the Belfast office earlier in the day, He told me he could not sign up my partner even though she had gave me permission as the Belfast office were not allowed to give such an offer - So maybe try and and get the Stoke office for your renewal0 -
Have also recieved an email confirming everything0

I have been given the same rubbish on vodafone. I am currently on a SIM only 600mins unltd text/internet for just £15/month. I have 2 lines. Wanted a HTC desire on 18months on one of them and was given the same deal for new customers on the internet. However, quidco gives £90 off online and they won't do the same over the phone. The SIM only deal for 12 months at £25 gives you quidco of £120 so it is effectively £15 for 900mins and unltd text/internet. I have written a notice of termination as a result. It is unbelievable how they "value" business from a long stand customer!0

I was leaving Vodafone and then got offered a good deal from Outbound Retentions for the HTC Desire. The person said the phone is out of stock at the moment and I will be kept updated by email, and also to ignore the details of the contract I get through at the moment as it will be incorrect until I receive the phone.
It's this last bit I'm worried about considering the email and my web account say I will be paying more than I am at the moment, with a lot less minutes and a 24 month contract. Does this new contract come into effect from when (if looking at the stock situation) I receive the phone or is it effective from now?
I do have an email from Voda saying I can cancel within 7 days of receiving the phone, the new Sim or this email (whichever comes later) but if the "new" contract (which is not the one I agreed to) is in effect I will go over the minutes...0 -
I went for a Vodafone upgrade a few weeks ago which was £30pm, 18 months, free HTC Desire. I then cancelled the upgrade because I saw the Beepy Mobiles T-Mobile offer of £25pm for 18 months with cashback. Unfortunately as people will know, Beepy seem to have severe stock issues.
The question is, how can I get Vodafone to give me a Desire on an 18 month contract for £25pm? I know this must be really pushing the limits of what they can do so I want to go about it right. Do I speak to upgrades and see how far I can push them? Or do I just dial 191 and ask to cancel my contract straight away and see if retentions offer anything?0 -

Hey...
I'm going to be in the same situation as you in August.
I'll ask for my PAC code in August and wait for them to ring me and offer an amazing deal with 3GB internet like t-mobile.
If they don't offer me what I want I WILL move to t-mobile.

I got this deal yesterday, phone will come tomorrow so back in stock it seems. 18 month contract, 600 mins, unlimited internet, 500mb data, vodafone passport, free HTC Desire £25 a month. I didn't call 191 as I kept getting poor offers, but I did pick up the phone call from the department that wanted me to stay [as had requested PAC code]... Hopefully that helps you out....0 -
According to their eforum thread it's still not in stock. Let us know if it turns up tomorrow. http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/topic/57314-htc-desire-stock-updates/0
