Hey...
Well, if I wanted to I could now upgrade my handset and renew my contract with Vodafone today.
Not sure I will though.
Just been speaking to billing support about the £600 they have overcharged me - last week when I phoned they said it would all be resolved by now.
Now I have been told that my refund is going to be dealt with by Banbury head office and all will be resolved within 24 hours - Hmmm.
I really am at my wits end. I've been with Vodafone for 9 years, and they were once so efficient and competitive, but now they are the opposite.
I wont hold my breath, but lets see if they can sought things as promised.
If they do, and it's a big if, I might actually stay with them if they can match t-mobiles 3GB internet allowance for handsets that use the Android operating system.
The Vodafone of yesteryear would have been aware of t-mobiles offer and would have been matching it, or more likely bettering it - how can such a huge, profitable company treat it's loyal customers so badly, oh how times have changed.
Vodafone, if your reading this, when your long term loyal customers begin to seriously consider leaving you for the competition, which offer better deals & bundled allowances at lower prices, you should really wonder if this is the beginning of the end... remember what happened to Cellnet ?
Whinge over.
M (+RC).
Guess what...
No one bothered to phone me today.
Not surprised, just a little disappointed that I will now almost certainly have to go through the rigmarole of changing networks, setting up new direct debits, and transferring my existing number to the new service provider.
I will send Vodafone an email and phone them Monday - it wont be pretty,

Until recently had 4 contracts with Vodafone. Now it’s down to 2
They are falling like a house of cards because they r not competing against the competition
I wish I could run my business this way!
The broadband contract was the first to go, and now the first number of 3
I followed all the motions as every upgrade but a deal worth considering was not offered
Also after PAC code nobody ever successfully contacted me. I talked to retentions on the phone also sent e-mails but the offers were poor in comparison and much more expensive than what I was paying.
All the networks are as good in the majority of areas, and yes we do get used to certain online formats of the respective web sites but unfortunately I am a “(wh#re) for price” and cannot pay in total over the contract £180 more by going with the lousy offers I was given
I am sure that I am not the only one to experience this but I now I have only 2 more contracts to loose to the competition
After 6 /7 years of being a customer, be assured that you are not going to get loyalty as a factor in the price equation0 -
Just in case you have missed it, anyone on an "unlimited internet" contract with a 500mb fair usage policy (pretty much anyone who took out a contract before 1st June that came with internet apart from iphone and nexus one) hammer it as much as you can turn off wifi and rack up the usage - maybe leave it streaming radio overnight if you want to be sure.
Vodafone will send you texts informing you that you have exceeded the limit. just ignore them until you hear from them telling you that you have been charged £5.
Once they announce the charge to you, you then have 14 days to write to vodafone informing them you wish to cancel (you get to keep your handset).
This is an email i received from Vodafone directors office earlier today:
I’d just like to reassure you on the charges you seem concerned about.
Vodafone will not be charging any of our customers for these charges prior to being contacted by our dedicated team. This is why we are going to be sending you a text to make you aware.
How this will work, I will explain.
In months one an two you will be receiving text messages that firstly says that you have exceeded your allowance and there maybe a better price plan for you. I can assure you that you will not be charged in this period for the usage should you be exceeding the 500mb.
In month three, if your usage is still exceeding the allowance we will contact you to offer the options of other price plans better for you or we will discuss cancelling your contract without the early termination fee.
Vodafone are going to make sure that our customers will be given forewarning regarding this and will kept in the loop over the period of three months, however I must reiterate again you will not be charged for exceeding your data of 500mb until we call you after month one and two.
Given this explanation Vodafone’s position remains the same as I’m not able to release you from your contract at this moment without the early termination fee.

Right, originally I renewed with VF on a SIM only deal about a month back, but after they changed the goal posts on the FUP on the "unlimited" internet I was sold I canceled within the 7 day cooling off period.
Now things have all settled down a bit I contacted them on twitter "@VodafoneUkDeals" and said I was looking for a good SIM only deal what can they do? What I wanted was a low monthly price, 1GB data usage - I am happy with this as I wont go over that, but will probably go over 500 mb so wanted a bit more leeway.
Just had a call and been offered 600 mins, unlimited texts(3000), 1GB of usage for £20 a month, but at half price for 9 months for a 12 month contract.
So £10 a month for 9 months then £20 for the last three.
This sounds quite good to me and I am just waiting for confirmation in an email to check it all and get it in writing.
Would like anyone's thoughts?0 -
I am at the end of an 18 month Voda contract and e-mailed them last night at 22.30 to give my 30 days notice. I am currently on 300m 300 texts and unlimited data for £25.00 p/m . I got a phone call from Retentions team this morning at 10am asking why I was leaving. Told them I had been offered a good deal on a Desire at T-mobile and they told me as I was a good customer and didn't want to lose me, they could offer a deal where they just covered the cost of the phone during the life of the contract: this was 600mins, unlimited texts, unlimited data for £22 p/m with a free Desire over 18 months.
I agreed to renew as I thought it was a pretty good deal.0 -

That is good but make sure you get it in writing. Vf no longer do unlimited data, so if this is what you were told then I would be concerned.0 -

Hi...
I'll be in the same position as you next month.
Although life would be simpler if I was offered a similar deal as you and then didnt have to change networks, from what I can gather Vodafone only offer a maximum 1GB data allowance, but t-mobile offer 3GB with an Android handset.
So... unless Vodafone can offer me 3GB I'll have no option but to move to t-mobile.
What's the maximum GB allowance forum members have been offered by Vodafone and what was the contract lengh, monthly cost, bundled minutes & texts, free handset model etc ?

have just rung Vodafone and got the HTC desire on 300 minutes talk, unlimited texts and unlimited internet, for £20 including VAT per month, 24 month contract. Only slight setback was the phone is £99, but I was going to be stung for my current tariff on 1 moonths cancellation so not having to do this, and I get to keep my number.0

Thought i'd decided that the HTC Wildfire would be the right phone for me (like the fact its smaller than the Desire, not bothered about the slower processor), but Voda's pricing seems to be totally wrong.
I've been offered today-
Wildfire- 24m contract- 600m, unlimited txts, 500mb data = £25/m
or
Desire- as above with a one-off contribution of £24 (£41-£17 trade in for old phone).
The Desire sim free is twice the cost of the Wildfire. Personally, I don't think the desire option is a particular bargain, which makes the Wildfire pricing absolute nonsense!0
