Made some enquiries, I got a call from a 3rd party company for Vodafone which could be the reason why they have stock, they did say they were calling "From Vodafone" but apparently not!
Number that called me was: 008080024636

That number is from Vodafone Outbound Retentions, same one that called me last Friday and talked me into a deal. I have had nothing saying it is in stock or dispatched though.

If you are offered a deal by Vodafone Outbound Retentions that you take up, and then find that Vodafone have also taken an extra one off amount of money that was not agreed to out of your bank account, what can you do?

It looks like Vodafone can listen to the call of the upgrade to confirm there should not be any extra charge, but may ask me to accept the charge anyway or cancel the contract rather than stick to what was agreed. Can they do this?

Just wondered what other people thought of this. My DD is off to India, volunteering in a hospital for six weeks. She has a vodafone contract, well I do really but the phone is for her. She isn't going to take her phone as she would be charged for any random calls or texts she got, her uni friends often send round texts and it could be very expensive. I asked vodafone if they would suspend her account while she is away, I am happy for it to be added onto the end of the contract so as far as I see it they aren't losing. I could then give her the £30 to get a pay as you go sim and some credit so that she can stay in touch. They basically just laughed at me offered to suspend roaming on her phone, can't see the point of that, or suspend the phone completely but I would still pay full amount. I don't think either option helps. Do you think it is worth trying again or shall I just write off the £30? Thanks for any advice.

Just realised this isn't the right place for this question, saw it was Vodafone and didn't think to check what the thread was for. I will go and see if I can find somewhere more appropriate. Sorry.

Got promised the world on upgrade last month however that member of staff lied and put me on an expensive tariff, and offered me a nokia n900 (which was discontinued at the time by vodafone) when I phones next day to confirm deal I was told that they have no record of the agreed deal. I lost my old tariff of anytime 500 which had 500mins and stop the clock, was promised 600mins with stop the clock for £25 month on 12 month contract this was a lie, (I found out next day that apparantly my new deal that was negotiated is 900 mins, £40 month on 24 month contract, they had no record of the deal that was offered to me and that I agreed to)

now I have been told that there is no way of puting me back on my old tariff as stop the clock has been discontinued

Now I need to do the upgrade again as I canceleld last upgrade, I am going for a Samsung Glaxy S

Inbound retentions told me that they can't give the phone to me on 12 month contract, even if I contribute to handset

best they offered me was £35 month 18month contract, 600 mins, unltd texts , 500mb internet, £68.72 towards handset

Is there a specific member of staff that I need to find in order to get this deal? did you leverage it against another deal on another network?

Saw this deal at compareyourmobile .com/show.asp?hs=i9000
    T-mobile 600 mins 1gb internet, 500txt 3 months free insurance £30/month
