Vodafone Retention Deals

I was upset and called up vodafone immediately today to cancel and they said that they are going to charge £464 cancellation fee. The customer relations team also told me that their records state that their computer notes suggest that i already have htc desire.. when I have have not received the phone. Moreover I was supposed to pick up the phone from the shop and I have not been contacted by the shop as of yet. I feel like pulling my hair out. Goodbye vodafone.
OK deep breath. You are fine.
Until you receive the phone you can cancel at any time with no penalty. I am sure that they will fix the offer they made for you if you ask, if they refuse just cancel the offer. They may be incompetent at times, but they are not going to offer you somethjing that they cant honour as they know 9 times out of 10, you will cancel the deal.0 -
Negotiated a new 12 month sim only contract with vodafone yesterday afternoon. The advisor was fantastic and I got a great deal.
900 Anytime Minutes
Unlimited Texts (3000 fair usage policy)
Unlimited Internet (500MB fair usage policy)
Unlimited Landlines (Free of charge)
Vodafone Family (Group of 6 £7 per month)
£10 per month (Normally £20) + £7 vodafone family = £17 per month
After speaking with the retentions department I double checked the offer given by sending an e-mail so also have the deal in writing.
Fantastic offer Vodafone... Cheers! :j0 -

Yobgnivas, can you resend the email please? You should have received an auto reply with the email reference number.

Jenny I have resubmitted the email and this time i did get an auto reply reference: [#2572043]
I have also since spoken with Vodafone to try and get hold of someone to sort this protracted upgrade - and all I found out was that I am on a pre-order list for the Desire as it is not in stock - this order is based on a 24m contract NOT the 18m I initially discussed.. and which i hasten to add I havent even agreed to!:mad:0 -
I think even by confirming by email you still need to double check what is on their system. I found if you have online billing you should be able to see exactly what tariff you are on and the amount before VAT.
When mine got sorted this was updated instantly
Looks like you have to prepare to do this every upgrade0 -
Would be interested what VF can offer.
I have a HTC Desire I bought myself so just looking for a SIM only plan. I previously upgraded to a SIM only plan on the 7th of May which included a deal with what I was told was unlimited internet. I then found out two days later from this site and VF forum that the unlimited internet no longer existed even though thats what was sold to me. As a Desire user I want as much data as possible. So I canceled my upgrade and my account now runs out on the 24th of June.
I dont want to leave VF as I think their network is very good, but could quite easily move to T-mobile where they have a minimum 1GB internet and can have 3gb internet, so this makes much more sense for me.
If VF can offer something comparable to that for a decent price then I dont mind staying.
Would be interested to hear from the VF rep.
Thanks.0 -

Initially the contract was a 24 month contract, however as you have provided the proof you were told otherwise I have amended this for you so now you are on an 18 month priceplan (600 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB internet for £25 per month)
As you were misinformed about this we have raised a £10 credit to come of your current bill.
I trust this reassures you, let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks

This was all sorted out on the account on 20/05/2010 and now why have you change it to £40, it showed £21 ish before VAT before.
This is starting to really pee me off now, Still waiting for a reply from the CEO, just a joke of a company now. Been with them for near 17 years0 -
After seemingly months of calls about my old contract with Vodafone, I received, firstly:
About six weeks ago an £80 credit to my account and the contract I wanted (SIM only) until the HTC Desire came in.
HTC Desire now in and offered
18 month contract, £30 per month including VAT
600 anytime minutes
Unlimited texts
1Gb of mobile internet data
HTC Desire free of charge
£20 accessories credit
£45 credit (in lieu of 16Gb memory card as none available)
Deal or no deal?0 -

Deal or no deal?
Got that in writing? Sounds to good to be true unless they can back it up by text/email. I've been with them for nearly 8 years and can't get a decent deal out of anyone at Vodafone on a Desire. I'm currently on £35/month for 600mins and unlimited txts, want the same talk plan with the 1gb data for £30 over 18months and they won't budge- only on a 24 month plan. This is despite me regularly having a higher spend with them (some months earlier this year were £80-odd due to being abroad). There seems to be zero recognition for customer loyalty at vodafone!0 -
Hefferlump seems ok to me given the 80 quid credit to your account earlier
For all thos worried about not getting the agreed upgrades I thought I would give a positive story.
Called by vodafone and agreed the upgrade but not phone in stock
My account showed some very different plan to the one I agreed.
Phone eventually delivered.
Phoned up customer services (191) and chose the option that says "If you are thinking about leaving vodafone" (think its 3 then 2)
Explained the situation to the person who said he would put me through to the 7 day returns team.
They then took control and initiated things. Either one of two things will happen
1) they will be able to change your account there and then to reflect things
2) they will get a manager to contact another manager to kick the sales person to changing your account.
2) is what happened to me and I got a call today from the originals sales guy apologising that the account had not been updated and explaining ti was probably due to an email not being sent.
So moral of the story is if you have the deal on record, give them a call as soon as you receive your phone and things will get sorted
It is a pain to have to do it and shows that some of the internal processes at vodafone really need improved but be persistent and it will work out0 -

Not sure how much luck is involved in the eligibility for deals. My spend is about the same as yours and I got the deal you mentioned above for £20/month for the Desire. They have denied to other people that it's available and won't discuss other customers accounts. I was determined to leave Vodafone regarding the FUP fiasco, but this deal was too good to pass up.0
