Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi,
I got a call about an upgrade to the desire yesterday.
I was told the phone would be with me Wed or Thu at the latest.
I then got an email last night saying that stocks were delayed and it would be 7-10 days.
I then checked my account today and they have a different tariff at a different cost (more expensive) and for a longer contract.
My questions:
1) when does the cooling off period start? - The vodafone person said from receiving the phone but I'm not 100% sure about this
2) Can I cancel because they haven't sent me the phone then switch to someone who does have stock of the phone?
3) What is the best way of getting my account corrected?0 -
What contract did they offer you Donut, out of interest?0

When I also highlighted I had already been offered 1200mins for £25/month was told this was impossible:mad: I said I wasnt lying and that I was told it was written in my account notes and the call was recorded! Apparently the system then went down and my account could not be viewed:eek:
This is my problem with Vodafone - how can the 'deals' from the retentions/outbound sales team be so different from person to person. Perhaps i will mention I am recording the call next time also! absolute joke!
Vodafone run and hide when they're aware you have recorded the offer.
I got the silly scroat vodafone rep by the neck and confronted the Vodafone forums with the evidence and they took their ball away and didn't want to play anymore.
They were ( and still are ) offering 12 month contracts with a FREE Desire handset for £35 per month ( 300 mins, 3000 text and there famous unlimited internet ). But instead you get an 18 month contract OR if you ring back to accept the deal, the rep you spoke too doesnt exist or they cant find your online notes.
I have more trust in Fred West building me a new patio then to trust ANY Vodafone rep ( and that includes the ones who post on here )0 -
I requested my PAC yesterday and got a call today.
I'm after an Iphone 4 or Nexus one. After first telling me that no one would get the Iphone 4 till september at the earliest which may be true but historically they started to appear a month or so after they are announced at WWDC on o2 and then said Voda would not get it till late in the year (september).
One of my gripes is signal, due to my location, o2 is better, they asked if I'd consider a sure signal box, I would but not if I had to pay for it,(given it's my power and network they will be used), I was asked if I'd stay with VF if they gave me a box for free but as they'd said the iphone 4 won't be till september I declined.
No movement on price or deals on nexus 1 or iphone but I didn't expect any to be honest. More annoyed about the release dates and given all the mis informaion about the nexus 1 date I just guess they are not being honest.0 -

I very relucantly upgraded to a HTC Desire with Vodafone and only because the deal they gave me after requesting my PAC was by far the best I've seen for my usage.
Now I've been already billed incorrectly for the first month and I still haven't received the handset despite an email it would be delivered before 1pm today. To say I'm displeased is an understatement.
At least I have the call recorded and the deal in writing via email after having problems with almost every upgrade I've done (not just VF) so I've got something to hit them round the head with.0 -
I had to phone Vodafone on two occasions but I have to say they were very helpfull and pleasant and got the problems sorted so I would suggest getting in touch with them ASAP.I wanted to get it sorted before my 7 day cooling off period ended rather than be stuck with something I didn't agree to.
Did not have to chase up further, as the Web Team actually phoned me:T and had even checked my account in advance.
They confirmed specifically that the "missing" web pack was there although they could not access the system that customers see!
Noticed however that he mentioned when referring to it that it was 500mb for the web whereas I had been specifically told it was "unlimited" (as with O2) but this was explained away as being only a "Fair Use" level which I was unlikely to hit anyway. As there is enough evidence now as to what it was meant to be, I've just left it at that on the basis that I don't really mind what Vodafone want to call the pack as I know I can go back to them should it ever be an issue (although it would have been nicer if they had just properly documented what they had agreed).0 -

At least you're on safe ground. I learnt a long time ago to record voice conversations and its paid off .0 -
