At present a bit confused!! My contract with vodafone finishes on 15 June. I have given my 30 day notice. Shop has just old me as I have requested closure I will lose my number, and I can only apply for my PAC when I am out of contract! IE the 15 June. Which means I will be out of a phone for the two or three days to get another contract. Is this all correct? In fact does it make sense what I have just posted?
You contract needs to be live to move your number, you need your PAC code, not the cancellation.
If you want to keep your number request the PAC code and go phone shopping, if you want to wait (say iphone 4) then do nothing for now and wait till it's announced, then request the PAC Code.
If you want to change numbers then let the termination happen.0 -
gjchester. Many thanks. Have now ordered my PAC code contract will be cancelled when PAC is used. Very surprised at the attitude. It was just 'OK that's done and ordered' I have been with V for about 5 years with two phones!Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

Yup, I asked Upgrades for my PAC code, as I found a good deal on O2 that they couldn't match. Retentions rang 4 days later, and offered me :-
Blackberry Bold 9700 Free,
18 months term,
300 mins Anytime/Network,
Unlimited Text,
500mb Data,
Blackberry things that are needed.
£30.
A steal I think.0 -

Our over the phone teams will ask for a credit/debit card that is registered to your home address as part of our checks. This is nothing to worry about.

For Voda Rep
Just had an email to say my partners upgrade order has been process but as usual the the renewal contract length 24 instead of 18 and amount £30 instead of £25 is incorrect. I do have an email confirming the agreed amount.
We was also told the new tariff wouldnt start till the day we received the phone which i believe to be 25/05/2010
So what is the procedure now as i want this stating on her account details. I cant believe after being so careful this time i have to complain again.0 -
Another call from Vodafone retentions, offered me two different contracts for the HTC Desire:
300 mins for £20/month or 600 Mins for £25/month (+ all the usual extras) (I had to highlight that neither suit my usage as im fairly heavy on calls)
When I also highlighted I had already been offered 1200mins for £25/month was told this was impossible:mad: I said I wasnt lying and that I was told it was written in my account notes and the call was recorded! Apparently the system then went down and my account could not be viewed:eek:
This is my problem with Vodafone - how can the 'deals' from the retentions/outbound sales team be so different from person to person. Perhaps i will mention I am recording the call next time also! absolute joke!0 -

Well - as a customer of 20+ years!!, I had not been bothering getting new phones but had been getting a discount on my contract. Good deal for Vodac as I rarely use my 100 mins & only a few texts but they got a guaranteed customer.
This time told by retentions that they did not do discounts now! & was offered the same deal as any new customer! Looking for a SIM only deal so that I have transparency of what the contract really costs, with 300 mins (to allow for loss of carry forward on old tariff) plus a moderate number of texts and some internet access so I can try that. Vodafone have that with their sim only except they are undercut by O2 on cost.
The O2 deals are often better, especially after getting £5 pcm off broadband with them fro having a mobile account, AND they offer unlimited texts + unlimited internet on the sim only contracts I looked at!
As suggested by the Web Relations Team I e-mailed them via the website, but you've guessed... no reply!0 -
