For Voda rep
I just want to ask is it normal for outbound retentions to ask for a credit card as id when the deal is agreed over the phone as it isnt in stock yet ie HTC desire
Never had this before so just want to be sure0 -

I think all the reps have been made redundant.

Hello Povemeister, hope you can help.
I'm currently paying £35 per month - 200 free mins / 500 free texts.
I'd like to reduce this monthly amount, but I also want a new phone that doesn't seem to be on offer from Vodafone at the moment. It's the Nokia 6700 slide. Is it possible to upgrade to phones that aren't on the website or in the guides? It might be that this phone was being offered previously or something? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Emma.0 -

That is way to much for that contract..should be about £15 to £20 with those few mins and txts.
Are you out of contract? if so ask for your pac code and look elsewhere for that phone and a better contract if vodafone dont do it
Looks like the 6700 has only just come out, doesnt get great review and is not available many places at mo

At present I pay £35 per month on an 18 month contract.
Your contract doesn't expire you've just passed you minimum term. It changes to a 30 day rolling contract.Blackwatch_uk wrote: »As my contract expires today (14/05/10) how long before I can expect a call from retentions?
Did you actually say you wanted to leave? Upgrades and retentions are different teams. Retentions will not call if you haven't asked to leave, why should they? No company is going to call a customer to get him to pay less less he's asked to leave either by a termination request or asking for a PAC code.
Vodafone requires 30 days notice so if you haven't given notice yet then you stilll need to give a months notice to leave. That usually gets you on retentions list to call you.0 -

We've waved Vodafone goodbye, I was told that for £15 a month I couldn't expect to get any better deal from them for being a long standing customer.
In fact, the deal was a downgrade on my current one.
We've gone to T Mobile and got:
LG InTouch Max
300 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited I'net (upto 3gb)
£15 per month.
oh my!!! i have been with vodafone for 9 yrs and always get the top minutes until i cut if off cos im not using it much. my contract will finish soon and i was initially planning to get the £10/mon sim only 12 month contract and now thinking of getting £15/mo with a new handset... slim chance for then..i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble :whistle:0 -
very poor from Vodafone:
After rechecking the deal offered - realised it was a standard deal they offer all new customers! Spoke to Vodafone and said I was thinking of leaving - no attempt to keep my custom - infact they suggested I would want my pac code and promptly ended the call!
Next day had a call from the 'outbound sales team' (is this what they now call retentions?).
Apparently I was one of the 'priviliged' few that they contact to try and offer a great deal to stay... After refusing to tell him what I was willing to spend - and reiterating I just wanted their best possible deal(being a long term customer 10+yrs who has never upgraded handsets as worked in mobile handset manufacturing').
The 'agent' then tried to convince me to take a better and cheaper deal.. I actually had to point out that the original deal I was offered was infact better than what he was now offering!
He then proceeded to offer me his very 'best' deal which he couldnt possibly move from - when I rejected this he immediately dropped the price by £5/month and then reiterated that THIS was now his best deal!
I said I would think about it and requested he send me confirmation by email (as per advice on here). At this point I was told I had to accept this offer there and then as the agent had written on my profile that I should not be offered this deal again. Apparently 100% of people he offered this package to had accepted - when I pressed on what actual number that was - he admitted it was 1 person!!!
The thing I take exception to is the 'hard' (and inept) sell! I am an existing customer of over 10yrs and unfortunately I do expect some loyalty back from Vodafone for my continued business... Trying to 'dupe' me into a worse value contract was bad enough, then to almost immediately further discount their 'best' deal really annoyed me... and then the final straw was being told I MUST accept the offer NOW - or it would be noted on my account and that I would NOT be offered such a good deal again!
Vodafone already have my custom - why try to railroad me into a contract - especially if you are so sure I cant find better elsewhere!?
I now await either another call or my PAC code - will update on here:mad:0 -
At present a bit confused!! My contract with vodafone finishes on 15 June. I have given my 30 day notice. Shop has just old me as I have requested closure I will lose my number, and I can only apply for my PAC when I am out of contract! IE the 15 June. Which means I will be out of a phone for the two or three days to get another contract. Is this all correct? In fact does it make sense what I have just posted?Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
