Vodafone Retention Deals

To the vodafone rep, I would appreciate it if someone from your team would get in contact with me to get my new PAC off me as promised. I was also given a number to call in case you never, but it just goes to voicemail. I have left messages and have also sent an e-mail over the past few days. My order is due to arrive tomorrow so I would like this to be sorted as soon as possible.
Thanks.0 -
I thought the PAC had to be issued within a certain number of days0

Are there any deals on the Legend seen as how all the attention is on the Desire?
I was thinking this too:

Been out of contract for 5-6 months, was my Sons and the last 3 bills were around £90 so thought i might be able to get a decent dealfor the Desire.
I got offered an month deal that was £5 more than one on the website, pointed this out and was told nothing they could do.
Maybe they don't want to keep my custom!0 -
Emailed as described and got this response, looks like bye bye vodafone!
After going through your email I myself feel very disappointed with the level of service you have received from us, which I deeply regret.
As we are from Email Contact Centre I'm unable to discuss or comment the upgrade deal or offers as we have
special team dealing with upgrades and only they are authorised to action upgrades and offer various deals.
There are several parameters on which the offered deals are based and they are:
- The time spent with Vodafone
- The line rental you are on
- The phone you choose
- The price plan on which you want the phone
After all these things are taken into consideration, you are given an upgrade quote.
Mr., I can also see that 04th May 2010 a PAC code has been issued.
The PAC for your number is VCN and it would expire on 03rd June 2010.
All you need to do is advise your new Service Provider of the PAC.
They’ll then process your request and provide you with a date your number will be transferred. This is called a port date.
As soon as your number ports to your new Service Provider your account with Vodafone will cease. You will be required to pay line rental and call charges up to this date.
Mr. , if your PAC code is not used your Vodafone account will remain active until you instruct us further. The PAC is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
You’ll receive your bill as per your billing cycle
after your number ports and I would advise you not to cancel your Direct Debit until your final bill has been paid.
Trust this helps.
Worse than useless i think!0 -
Phoned to discuss upgrade, interested in Desire, iphone or Nexus and was offered free Desire with:
1200mins
Unlimited Landlines
Unlimited texts
Unlimited Internet
(all subject to fair use policy)
£35/month on a 24 month contract
I am only putting this up for info as seems quite a good deal.. personally I will be having my usual negotiations with retentions as want a shorter length contract and cheaper deal... and the moon on a stick!!! will keep you updated.0 -

I agreed a deal with retentions but due to the stock issues with the HTC Desire they said they would place a 'pre-order'. They couldn't place the order on their system for the deal we had agreed and they had to pick one of the standard tariffs. They said that once the order was complete they could amend it to reflect the deal as agreed.
They warned me that the confirmation email would state the wrong tariff but that it would be sorted out afterwards.
At the moment I am happy to trust what they told me. Hopefully the stock levels of the Desire will improve. I think the whole pre-order thing was invented fairly recently by retentions to try and stop their customers getting queue jumped by phone and online orders. Usually stock issues aren't this bad and they just allocate phones that are floating around their system. The Desire is so ... well ... desireable ... that as soon as there is any stock it is gone before retentions get a chance.
So I can't say "It'll be alright" but you aren't the only one. Hopefully there are plenty of people in the same boat and retentions are on the case.
At the end of the day my agreement to accept the higher tariff was made at the same time they agreed to manually tweak the contract. If the later gets forgotten about then I am forgetting about the first bit. i.e. it was only verbally during that 1 phone call that I agreed to anything.
I had a contract for 18 months, £15 / mth. They said they couldn't put it on as 15 and had to put it on as £30 with a discount of £15. Surprise surprise, 3 months from end of contract the discount disappears.
Have rung them and at great length got them to put it back on.
Several of the people I spoke at Vodafone said it was standard policy to remove discounts 3 months from contract end.
Watch out, when you agree a contract, agree it for the entire duration, and get it in writing.0 -
Have been retained by Vodafone, on cusp of leaving for Orange after debacle with previous contract - see post above.
HTC Desire
£25
24 months
600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited data
50 MMS / mth
Unlimited data - thats what they said, when i pressed them they agreed its 500MB, but then said no one has ever been charged for going over the 500MB - would be interesting to know if that is true.
And 50 MMS per month - swung that as its the deal being offered by Orange (Panther 35) - although it's at £30 not £25. The MMs pack is worth £2/mth, he said he had to clear with his manager, put me on hold for 90 secs twiddled his thumbs and then came back with a yes.
Arriving tmrw - very excited.
Again sceptical that this deal will last full 24 months - he is adamant that it will, keeping me records safe for 21 months time when my bill mysteriously rises.0 -
Brilliant!!!
I currently get 600mins and UT for £15pcm for my daughter. I phoned for a better deal to include Internet.
I was offered 300 mins, UT and internet for £20pcm.
That's a worse deal than I'm alredy getting
