Vodafone Retention Deals

Emailed as described and got this response, looks like bye bye vodafone!
After going through your email I myself feel very disappointed with the level of service you have received from us, which I deeply regret.
As we are from Email Contact Centre I'm unable to discuss or comment the upgrade deal or offers as we have
special team dealing with upgrades and only they are authorised to action upgrades and offer various deals.
There are several parameters on which the offered deals are based and they are:
- The time spent with Vodafone
- The line rental you are on
- The phone you choose
- The price plan on which you want the phone
After all these things are taken into consideration, you are given an upgrade quote.
Mr., I can also see that 04th May 2010 a PAC code has been issued.
The PAC for your number is VCN and it would expire on 03rd June 2010.
All you need to do is advise your new Service Provider of the PAC.
They’ll then process your request and provide you with a date your number will be transferred. This is called a port date.
As soon as your number ports to your new Service Provider your account with Vodafone will cease. You will be required to pay line rental and call charges up to this date.
Mr. , if your PAC code is not used your Vodafone account will remain active until you instruct us further. The PAC is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
You’ll receive your bill as per your billing cycle
after your number ports and I would advise you not to cancel your Direct Debit until your final bill has been paid.
Trust this helps.
Worse than useless i think!
Any Voda Co. Rep want to try and help???
Received a call from the 0808 no but missed it and nothing since!!!0 -

HTC Desire
£25
24 months
600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited data
50 MMS / mth
Unlimited data - thats what they said, when i pressed them they agreed its 500MB, but then said no one has ever been charged for going over the 500MB - would be interesting to know if that is true.
And 50 MMS per month - swung that as its the deal being offered by Orange (Panther 35) - although it's at £30 not £25. The MMs pack is worth £2/mth, he said he had to clear with his manager, put me on hold for 90 secs twiddled his thumbs and then came back with a yes.
Arriving tmrw - very excited.
Again sceptical that this deal will last full 24 months - he is adamant that it will, keeping me records safe for 21 months time when my bill mysteriously rises.
Is there any way that anyone knows of to get a deal like this from vodafone without being a current customer?(or even with half the minutes would be great, as thats the same as what i can get on vodafone from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, but i would rather have it directly with vodafone!)0 -

Have rung them and at great length got them to put it back on.
Several of the people I spoke at Vodafone said it was standard policy to remove discounts 3 months from contract end.
Watch out, when you agree a contract, agree it for the entire duration, and get it in writing.
I had a £35 contract with £10 discount for duration. They put the £10 back on with 6 months left and I only managed to get 3 months back.
I have now taken out another 18 month contract with the desire, again with a £10 discount for the duration, I do have an email stating that, but have also asked for it in a hard copy TWICE , still not received it after they told me they would send0 -
Posting this purely for reference for others.
Recently took up the following offer from Vodafone Retentions Department after I requested my PAC code and got the usual call back.
- Free Sony Ericsson Vivaz
- 300 Minutes
- Unlimited Texts
- Unlimited Data (Usual 500MB FUP)
- 24 Month Contract
- TOTAL COST = £18.00 p/m
They were happy to offer me 600 minutes Talk time for £20 p/m but as I didn't need it I didn't take them up on that offer and stuck with 300mins.0 -

I got the same deal for £15 month0 -
Phoned to discuss upgrade, interested in Desire, iphone or Nexus and was offered free Desire with:
1200mins
Unlimited Landlines
Unlimited texts
Unlimited Internet
(all subject to fair use policy)
£35/month on a 24 month contract
I am only putting this up for info as seems quite a good deal.. personally I will be having my usual negotiations with retentions as want a shorter length contract and cheaper deal... and the moon on a stick!!! will keep you updated.
They gave me 18mnths/600m/unlmt txt/500mb int/passport for 18months at £20 a month and free handset. Admittedly this is ridiculous because it only works out as 380 total cost.
I quoted him a twitter offer they did in limited numbers (but then denied doing!) which was same deal but first 15mnths @20 last 3mnths @30. He was like well I can do it at 20 for the whole contract period.
To say I bit his hand off is an understatement, but I had requested my PAC and complained about the customer service i'd received as a customer of 7 years
edit...that's for an htc desire btw
edit edit...and he said it won't look like that when you get the confirmation email so i made him txt me the full deal including that the discount was to run for the WHOLE period of the contract. You do have to be careful with retentions because you can't call them yourself if it goes pearshaped!0 -

Find a longstanding customer with a good deal and get them to call for you. Thats how I brought my brother to vodafone and got him the same deal i had a few yrs ago, and that was a retentions deal. But on that occasion they did give me a number I could phone directly on, they work on commission and are a law to themselves within voda so anything is possible.:)0 -
To the vodafone rep
I have recently taken out another 18 month contract with a £10 discount for the duration ..agreed verbally with retentions.
I have spoken to someone twice now asking for written confirmation of this, each time was told yes we will send you confirmation.
Why hasnt it been sent?
Why is it the same story with so many people on here?
Why isnt it simple for vodafone to send written confirmation of any verbally agreed deal with retentions?0 -
I just emailed web relations today to get written confirmation of my deal as the discount didn't appear on MyAccount. They got back to me really quickly and confirmed in writing. Try that0

Have the vodafone web team all given up?0
