Havent gone for anything yet. Havent really been too bothered with them at all yet. They offered me an x10 for free, 24months x £20 although that was out of the blue (they phoned me) and I wasnt sure about that phone at the time (even though I did enquire about it).

Having made my mind up recently on a Desire I gave VF a quick call and they offered me what was on their website..

I have replied directly to them on this forum and told them to get in touch if they can offer me a good deal like they say they can. Only response to that was just a reply telling me to get in touch via email.

I sent this email to them after I heard of new customers getting far better deals than me.

    MY EMAIL
My contract ends on the 22nd April and im a little disappointed that new customers have been offered a free Desire on an 18 month contract (£20 for 15 months, £30 for 3) where as I havent been offered anything better than the prices on your website.
Apparently I am not a valuable customer then.
If I am feel free to call me.

    THEIR REPLY
Hello Thank you for your email.
You are a valued customer to us, and we'd love to keep it that way!
Unfortunately the offer you've mentioned was available for a limited period only, and it's not one that we'll be able to do at the moment.
All of our quotes are valid for 24 hours only. We'd still be happy to discuss the options of an upgrade, and we can see if we'd be able to improve on the online deals for you. What kind of price plan were you looking for?
If you would like us to get in touch, please let me know and we'll be happy to help.
    Kind Regards
    Helen

So despite me telling them to get in touch if they value their customers and can offer me something decent they tell me I am valued and suggest they can improve their offer to me and then ask if I would like them to get in touch with me....??!!

Hi Kirsty, my reference number is 2360711 if you want to have a look. The frustration I am getting is that
a - whoever I speak to in VF gives me a different answer and
b - although you say you can't speculate on other customers' upgrades, one has to assume that the postings we see here are accurate and for WHATEVER reason, some of your loyal customers are getting far better deals than others.

I'll hopefully hear from you with a comparable offer? Really hope so.

Still no word from VF 24 hrs later. If you are looking at getting in touch with me Kirsty, please do so via the email address connected to that reference number. I am curently out of the UK and don't wish to pay roaming charges to receive a call from you!

  • Thanks Espi,

I have sent a request via the web form as shown above and have a confirmation message saying the phone is out of stock (Desire) but I will be getting a call within a few days to discuss price plans and so on.

I really wanted to be able to get a deal and just pick up the handset from my local Fareham branch as they have 3 in stock (confirm by a colleague who was down there at lunch today).

If this is possible I would be immensely grateful and continue my long service with Vodafone!

    Hi robbiekhan,

If you have upgraded to the HTC Desire, then it is likely that the order has already been processed and your account adjusted to reflect this. For this reason, I wouldn't suggest visiting the store as they may not be able to provide you with the handset.

This is because your commitment date would have been altered to reflect the new contract.

However, if you haven't decided on a price plan and confirmed your order, then please feel free to pop down to the store and be sure to let us know how you get on. :D

    Have a great day,

  • Ah I see, I've not yet chosen a price plan, my account was adjusted today so that I am eligible for an upgrade (paid £97 to end early) and was wanting to just choose the new handset on a new plan but keep my number etc. I will pop down to the store and see if something can be done tomorrow as it appears the Vodafone systems are still down!

I'll wait for the call from your sales people still to see if they can get me a deal on a nice priceplan but I hope the store can work something out tomorrow too!
  • I'd just like to add some more fuel to the existing customer fire.

Using the same code as everyone else, I was offered the Desire on 600mins/ultd texts/internet for £25/18 months + £72 for the handset. Total cost, £522.

It seems that new customers are being offered the same deal but total costs of ~ £390 - (£20/month for 15 months, £30 thereafter with free handset).

I suggested meeting them half way by waiving the handset cost, making a total of £450, but was told they couldn't do it!!

It seems it's not a case of can't do it, but won't do it, for existing customers.

An open question to everyone. Would I or would I not like a call from Vodafone?
