They changed their upprade time scale recently to 30 days (i believe) via phone. Not sure what else it is you are rambling about.
no need for that attitude really about the rambling! if you havent got a useful comment, then dont bother at all!!!!
i have two contracts with voda.
1 is ending on 1st june. i can upgrade at 70 days online and 50 days on phone/in store.
carphone warehouse and phones4u can upgrade me instore now. i was just wondering why the difference?????
plus, i have been with voda for years, have two contracts and my phone is now falling apart. this is on a 18 month contract so no way shall i be taking a 24 month one out.
and they cannot match the price. i am currently paying £30 for 900 mins and unlimited txts, so no way am i going to pay £35 for the same thing.
let me know if im still rambling but only giving the full story ok!0 -
Sorry Dear Sir. I did help with your first question. Just amuses me when people say their phone is falling apart like its the mobile companies fault.
Any mobile company will not offer you anything worthwhile while you are still in contract, at this point they dont care, and why should they? You are in contract and cant go anywhere. The situation is turned around when your contract is coming to an end (make sure you've sent them your 30 day notice of cancellation), its at this time when you can negotiate a much better deal.0 -

Hey foxy, i have read on the vodafone eforum that vodafone have the store and online/phone separate.
Meaning store stock is different to online/phone stock. I dont know why they do it and they dont explain why they do it either.
They just explain to people why, some people can walk out a store with a phone and online stock is low/ dont have any.0 -
To the voda reps! I placed a question on the eforum --it was removed, but I did get an email telling me that I would be telephoned within 48 hours, errr still waiting that was over a week ago.!!
Hi atro1,
Having looked into this I can see that our colleagues on the eForum emailed you towards to the end of last month, however, I couldn't see that we'd received a reply to this.
So we can make sure things get sorted out for you could you reply again to the email we sent to you or provide us with the email reference you would've received from us?
ThanksSo as i say if voda wont match the deal they offered me id walk and to the voda rep why can some offer you deals like mine and other offer less is this fair on your custoners
Hi msdl28712,
Rest assured that our sales staff are incentivised to do the very they can for all of our customers when discussing either an upgrade or new connection.
ThanksI think vodafone offer terrible loyalty deals.
I have just phoned the upgrade team and mentioned that I had seen someone had been offered an 18 month deal on the HTC Desire, £25 a month, 600 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited web.
At first I was told that it was impossible as vodafone can only offer 24 month deals on this phone! I then asked why there was a 18 month contract being offered on this phone for new customers through their website?????
After much discussion I was offered an 18 month contract at £35 a month with a free phone ( exactly the same as a new customer would get!) or I could get this deal at £30 a month but the handset would cost me £65 !!!
So basically I am being offered a discount of £25 over 18 months as loyalty for being a good customer of vodafone for several years. I pointed this out and was told , yes, that's the deal.
It's a joke!
It seems that vodafone give different deals depending on who you talk to. If you are lucky then you might get someone who will offer you a deal worth while. If you are unlucky then you'll get told good offers don't exist.
My partner has a phone contract with O2 and they give much much better retention deals than vodafone.
In 5 days time I can request my pac code then I'm off to spend my money on a company who give better deals than vodafone!
Oh and by the way, I have already tried contacting the web team a few days ago as suggested in this forum, I'm still waiting for them to phone me!
Hi spanglexx,
While I can't guarantee that we'll be able to offer you the exact package you've offered here if you could update the thread with your email reference number I can check to make sure that it's come through to us.
Thanks,

I am in my 70 day upgrade but they reckon i can only do this online. I go to phones4u and carphone warehouse, they can upgrade me in store.
Can someone please explain this as vodafone just stated the obvious! no i cannot upgrade you on the phone but only online.
my phone is on its last legs, screen has gone totally due to it being a slidy phone.
Secondly, I currently pay £30 a month, the best they can match me in phones4u and carphone and voda online is £35 for what I have got now. surely this is not right????
Any help please? specially from the vodafone rep please!
Hi foxyd3vil12,
There have been a few changes concerning our upgrade policy recently so to clear things up I'm able to confirm that customers who have seventy days or less remaining of their existing minimum contractual commitments with us are able to upgrade online.
In the event that a customer wishes to upgrade either through our telesales guys or in store they'll need to have fifty days or less remaining.
However, if you'd like us to take a closer look at things for you you're welcome to email us your details via the Contact us form on our website.
When sending email you'll just need to state the code MMM135 to make sure it comes through to us and include a link to the thread together with your MSE username so we can identify you.
Thanks,

Lee, i had email and telephone conversations with Paul in your web relations team, i was told the best i would be offered is 600 mins unlimited texts and email and have to pay £70 for the handset, (with a 20 credit to my account)
I asked repeatedly if the handset fee could be reduced or waived to be told this wasnt possible.
So why do i see people posting deals on here such as this one:htc desire
got 600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited web
£25 month
30 chatge for phone though only cause i wanted 18 months
but im happy with the deal
I have also seen someone on AVForums who got that contract with a free handset.
In the end i gave up when Kay confirmed via email that you couldnt go any lower on the handset price and I went with mobilephonesdirect 300 mins, 300 texts and 3gb of data on tmobile for £25 a month (18 months) with a free handset and £30 cashback from topcashback.
So whilst the web relations idea might be a good in principle your staff need to know that people are obviously aware of what other people are being offered and feel a bit aggrieved that joe bloggs is beiing offered a better deal on the exact same product... this is "moneysavingexpert" after all.
p.s. what has happened with the vodafone call centre staff on 191 have they been moved overseas as quality of customer service has been awful when previously i couldnt fault it...TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
I just tried to upgrade to a better deal as I am well over the upgrade time. Yesterday I agreed to 600 mins, 3000 texts sim only deal. I asked if they could add on a handset, they said no way. I was not offered a buy it option either. I was dissapointed as theis was supposed to be the upgrade dept.
I initially got through to the billing enquiry dept, the rep there added 100 mins and a 500mgb net bolt on to my other contract (DS1 phone) yet the upgrade guy tells me that is not possible.
Finally got him to add the 500mgb bolt on onto the sim only contract, is it worth talking to the web relations team to see about a handset?

I've just been called back after requesting my PAC as I was getting no joy from upgrades. I was offered a free HTC desire on 24 month contract, 300 mins, unlimited texts and internet for £20/month (plus the delivery charge). They're just waiting to get the phones back in stock.
Very interesting. I have been on the phone with a number of people in the retentions area and the best deal I got on an upgrade was the same as yours but I am paying £80 for the HTC Desire!
After reading wickychoo's post, I would like to hear from the Voda rep on this forum as to why this would be the case and whether they would be happy to offer the same deal to me. Otherwise I am now planning on getting my PAC code after all and moving to T-Mobile.
What do I need to do to have the Voda rep look at this?0 -
My daughter's 12 month pay monthly deal is about to end with voda. and i'm not sure what to do.
The phone we have from them on my contract is totally rubbish and they keep repairing it and will not replace it, coupled with the fact we are being left without a phone for days on end.
She has 600 mins and UT for £15 (no phone with this contract).
Does anyone know what we should expect or should we go elsewhere?
Thanks.0 -
