I wanted a Blackberry but tariff too much but if you are moving away from one I presume you aren't too impressed??? I haven't heard too many good reports on Genio but I was looking at it last week and quite liked it although it did seem a a bit plasticy. Good reports on HTC Desire though! Thanks for the info :T.0

Yeah I think most of the Blackberry's are ok, I just had a lot of problems when I frst got the Storm, kept cutting out and rebooting, so after three returns to technical, they eventually gave me another one which has been fine, but I'll be happy to get rid of.
I'm going to have another visit to the Vodafone shop in the next couple of days to have a look at the handsets again and make a decision from there. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

Hi all I am a vodafone customer approaching my upgrade time and was looking at an iphone but have just seen the new sony ericsson x10 advertised and it looks pretty damn good but with cheaper contracts. Anyone have any thoughts on this or is the iphone a better bet??
Cheers guys...0 -

fatboyonadiet - I'm sure we can help. We've changed our upgrade timescales. If you are in the last 50 days of your contract you can upgrade through any of our sales channels (online, over the phone or in store). If you're in the last 70 days you can upgrade online only.
Take care

Hi,
Does the retention department still exist? I have just upgraded and could always banter a good deal but when i questioned being put through to retention/disconnections they said that department doesn't exist anymore and i wouldn't get any better.
Have i been conned?
If so I'm not a happy bunny.
Please advise, thanksif i had known then what i know now0 -
Dont think it does exist i've spoken to the web relations team twice in the past few days after sending them an email from this thread, they phoned me when they said they would, second time being today and managed to get another good deal for myself this time.
The only way you are sure to find out is to write in giving your 30 days notice to end the contract then see if they contact you or not, if not just get your puk code or whatever it is to move your number, or even sign up as a new customer if you're not bothered about it.
My only advice is to email them using a link on here and quoting the latest code they are using, then email, wait for a call, research what you are looking for, know the prices for what is good price/deal for you then you'll know if they're giving you a good price.
I went in with Quidco offers and was matched without having to go through Quidco.
I even have the representative's email for contact now if I have any problems. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

I have already upgraded thou?
Having said that phone is being swapped (manufacture fault from nokia)
Think link on here is on different to the webmail page from vodafone, or do you mean the reference the vodaone reps are quoting?
I have no idea about quidco, a first for me? but if i've already upgraded?
In the past they could always 'do something' this time nout. Maybe i can still get out?
EDIT:
Have now emailed reference this thread and the reps code, MMM135.if i had known then what i know now0 -
I phoned customer services and spoke to someone earlier. I found it extremely hard to get any better deal but eventually got to something. I did prove that the person who did my upgrade on friday did tell a few fibs when infact he could have done me this deal then, or similar.
To cut a long story short i managed to get a deal I'm reasonably happy with. Considering "I hadn't made vodafone enough money over my last contract"
I will congratulate vodafone staff on being very well trained on not giving anything away. Maybe if i'd been with them more than ten years I have already I would get more offers...

I gave my 30 day notice last week by email, and received a confirmation email. Yesterday i emailed asking if i could get a PAC, got a reply saying as i'd asked for it they had cancelled my termination request.
Why would i want to continue the contract if i'd ported the number? I called up but was told if i wanted the contract to expire after the 30 day notice i wouldn't be able to carry the number over. Never heard of that before....
Also, did receive a call from retentions asking if i would consider upgrading, i said yes let me have a look at handsets on the website and give me a call back. Nothing heard since...0
