Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi...question for Vodafone company rep please.
I have a vodafone contract taken out in Dec as a gift for someone. The SIM has never been used and i am now left forking out £30 per month on the contract. I don't use it as i have a contract phone already and none of my family want it.
Can i sell on my contract to a company etc....or as i fear...am i stuck with it until my contract expires.
Thank you in advance.0 -
Hi Helen
It's ok I've recieved a phone call this evening and have had a fantastic deal offered to me. The brand new Nokia X6 with not a bad price plan and for only 18months just what I wanted. Thank you Vodafone. Rhiannon0 -
Father in law has asked that I deal with his upgrade, both of call plan and phone. He has mostly had Nokia's before and will probably stick to that. Best on the website that I can see is the X6 at £35 for 18months. Will they offer a better deal if he calls?0

For anyone who is upgrading their contracts, make sure they put it in email form to you so you have evidence prior to accepting.
They say in Retentions they cannot do it but I can GUARANTEE that if they dont do it, when you get confirmation of your contract it WILL NOT be as you agreed then you have to spend a week phoning them to sort it out.
Very disappointing......0 -

I can understand you not wanting to give out any information over the phone, particularly if you were not expecting a call.
If you've got a PIN set on your account for security we'll ask you to confirm this when you call which should give you an idea that we're the real deal. You can also request to call 191 to verify that the person calling you is indeed from Vodafone.
Your missing my point. Lets say they call and ask for my pin. I say tell them it's 1234 (and no it's not) and they say OK thanks that matches.
I've just given out my pin to potentially a complete stranger.
Vodafone need to tell me something that shows me that they are Vodafone. Saying call 191 does not help when they are on the phone. Calling from a 0845 number does not inspire confidence, why not set the call numbering so they appear to come from 191?
I've been out of the UK recently, so if they were to verify the country I was last in for my last international call, or the name of the bank I use, what the number of minutes and texts I have, when I started the contract, what phone Vodafone supplied last could be used. Anything that is not important but only vodafone or I should know. Last phone would be perfect, I know the last phone VF supplied me with and I may or may not be still using it, but any third party is unlikely to know that.0 -
Hi
I only yesterday agreed to upgrade with vodafone on the condition that I had ultd texts and internet and looking at my plan on my account it seems that this has not been done as it just says unlimited texts with mobile internet. I am due to recieve the upgraded phone on monday and I know I have a 7 day window but if this is not sorted by monday I will just refuse delivery of the phone!
I thought that it seemed to good to be true and I wish now I had seen your post scousemanblue and asked for a confirmation email.0 -
