Well done mate, got to say that the WRT do try and no doubt will satisfy most, just not for me
Out of curiosity, what deal did you get?

Thought i'd let you all know how i got on, i didn't! Was looking for the Nokia N97mini on an 18 month contract paying no more than £25 pm and using my current deal of 600mins,u/l texts and u/l 'net usage.

This all started with the mis-selling of my last contract as i still have 6 months to run( i was told that i could upgrade Feb). If i got the deal i was looking for then i would have been tied to Vodafone for 24months all in.

Unfortunately Vodafone will not budge on their 'best' offer of £30.

So with regret i will let my contract run down and look elsewhere as Vodafone feel that i'm not worth retaining for the sake of £90(7 yrs of business).

As a sub note, the Web team did respond to my emails and did try to phone me once so at least they DO try, i just couldn't get the deal i was looking for.

Good luck to everyone else and hello to either Orange/O2 or T-mobile come July!!!

Finally spoke with them today (the Web team). They seem to have the same struture of deals as the Upgrade team rather than retentions.
Moreover the deals are nothing like they used to be, so I'll bee looking around now...

I must say though that the web team seem a easy bunch to talk to cf. there normal sales guys.

Doesnt seem a very good deal to me.

When my upgrade was due at the end of last year in december the web retentions team did me half price for 9 months on a 12 month sim only tarif for my 2 numbers. One is 600 min the other is the 900 min plus internet. When I joined in 2008 I got your plan 600 for half price for 15 out of 18 months and a free sony ericsson w980i on both my contract numbers just by phoning their direct sales number on the website. Good times.
I honestly think the half price deal is their standard 1st deal....I got this offered for 12 month contract (later to find out he had only put it on for the 9 months and I got it extended to the full 12 months) I held out and got a couple of things thrown in including a phone (one my mum was thinking of getting so advised her to go sim only and she could have my freebie)
Also, as a result of waiting in all day for the phone to be delivered I called them back, asked for a return call off a manager (never came) and recalling them, I have ended up with the delivery charge refunded (£5) and an additional £30 credited to my account as a good will gesture :j

so not too bad from my experience really
  • Where are the vodafone reps that used to come here to help??? They were the only ones that seemed to want to keep us customers, however it seems now they aren't interested either..This doesnt look very good for vodafone does it?I've not had a call nor e-mail from them since my reply to their first e-mail, looks like it may be part of their policy now not to bother with retaining customers..oh well plenty other network offers out there.
  • To cut a long story short I had no end of problems with two faulty handsets which Vodafone were very slow to sort out.
In the end i quoted their CEO to them: -
    CEO Mr Guy Laurence: -

"Our company is all about customers. It’s all about serving customers every day of the week. In the UK we’ve got 10s of millions of customers and every single one of them needs to feel like we’re focussed on giving them the best service every single day of the week."

Next day I got a call sating they would upgrad me early (June) and offered me a free Blackberry Bold 9700 on 18 month contract.
300 minutes, unlimited texts and internet and also Blackberry email.
    £25pm for 15months then £30 for 3 months.

Yeah, I've sent loads of emails asking questions and not got much of a response from the web team. I'm returning my phone and requesting my PAC code as soon as it arrives. O2 has a similar deal to the one I got and have offered me a case for my phone after I requested one so whats the point in staying with Vodaphone.
  • I have been offered 600 mins unlimited texts sim only, £15. When I asked about the £10 deal others have posted here I was told that it was an offer on around Xmas time that has now ended. I pointed out that £70 quidco cashback on the £15 sim only would make it ridiculous for anyone to take this offer. I was then offered an old contract 600 mins unlimited texts £25 reduced to £12.50 (didn't even ask the term). 'This will be the last call you get from Vodafone'.

My contract runs out in March but I'm eligible to start the upgrade process now. I've been offered a new deal but declined it. I wasn't then offered a better deal either. Phone I was offered was a Nokia 6303.

I've never had a contract whereby you pay for 15 months at a reduced rate and then have to pay a larger amount without any deductions for the final three months. So I'm not starting now. Why they are doing this is beyond me apart from the obvious - getting more money out of us at the final three month hurdle.

I've been with Vodafone for something like ten years and each year I've managed to get my contract amount to either stay the same or be reduced and my minutes etc increased. To go backwards isn't what I call a good deal. So in the meantime I'll carry on looking around but that isn't to say I am not hopeful for a far better deal to be offered to me within the time I can request my PAC code and my contract ends.

Also if anyone has the Nokia 6303 - what are your views on it please? Thanks.
  • Hi Lara,

It seems you too are in the same boat as many of us. Vodafone don't seem to care anymore, even the representatives that used to come here everyday or two have now stopped coming on to help. They haven't even bothered to reply to e-mails.

Have a look for offers from other companies online and then use quidco, you'll get a better deal more than likely AND it will mean that you won't be paying money anymore to a company that seem to not care anymore for your business.

I'm trying to cancel my contract as I really cannot afford it any more, just been quoted in an email £160+ to cancel it, it seems I have just gone into a new 18 month contract period with them.

    Hence the price to cancel!

Any one any ideas how to get round this or to get them to reduce it?

(and yes I know it is my fault for not knowing when my next 18 month contract period started, but do you know when yours starts / ends?, it seems I am on some sort of rolling contract, ie if I don't contact them one month before it just carried on, I think I have had this contract for about 8 or so years. )
