Vodafone Retention Deals

When my upgrade was due at the end of last year in december the web retentions team did me half price for 9 months on a 12 month sim only tarif for my 2 numbers. One is 600 min the other is the 900 min plus internet. When I joined in 2008 I got your plan 600 for half price for 15 out of 18 months and a free sony ericsson w980i on both my contract numbers just by phoning their direct sales number on the website. Good times.

Thought i'd let you all know how i got on, i didn't! Was looking for the Nokia N97mini on an 18 month contract paying no more than £25 pm and using my current deal of 600mins,u/l texts and u/l 'net usage.

This all started with the mis-selling of my last contract as i still have 6 months to run( i was told that i could upgrade Feb). If i got the deal i was looking for then i would have been tied to Vodafone for 24months all in.

Unfortunately Vodafone will not budge on their 'best' offer of £30.

So with regret i will let my contract run down and look elsewhere as Vodafone feel that i'm not worth retaining for the sake of £90(7 yrs of business).

As a sub note, the Web team did respond to my emails and did try to phone me once so at least they DO try, i just couldn't get the deal i was looking for.

Good luck to everyone else and hello to either Orange/O2 or T-mobile come July!!!

Thanks for your response but I was asking specifically about the iphone because it is in a different league from the w980i plus your upgrade was sim only. I'm looking specifically for an iphone and I know deals on it won't come as cheap as £15

They were good times..unfortunately they dont have the same attitude towards existing customers anymore, as i found out yesterday...

Mate i know just how you feel. I'm sure they've made well over £90 in the duration of your 7 yrs with them. I am in a similar boat and it looks like i too will be moving to a new network, probably o2.

My comment on the Iphone deal you got was made in context that in general given deals that are offered on it it doesnt seem great. The rest of my post was in response to others asking about web retention deals.

Yip, i thought as much too but ultimately i'm not worth keeping. Ho hum plenty of other offers out there! Loyalty = Jack Squid!

Quick search on google brought up a site offering the n97 mini on orange with 600 mins n 3000 texts for £25 p/month. Funny eh how orange can easily afford it for even their new customers, but vodafone can't for you, a customer of 7 years.

Got a great deal of them and they could'nt have been more helpfull. I wish the rest of the customer service dept take some tips off them !!

Funny, i quoted that deal and because you only get 'net access for 2 months that is not a comparable deal, in their eyes anyway.
Mate, we are both in the same boat BUT other company's do love you(or your money anyway :rotfl:)

Once you add unlimited internet on that deal you looking at £30 a month
