Vodafone Retention Deals

Received a call from the web retention team today.
Anyone hoping to haggle a deal on the iphone with Vodafone......don't bother. They made it clear they were tied to tariffs by apple, and would only be in a position to do 'deals', if and when they get their own refurbs coming in (maybe a few months or longer).
So what it says on their website goes i'm afraid......now where's Tesco
i've been with vodafone for a good 10 years, with two numbers.
both are out of contract and looking to upgrade (as soon as i sort out a new computer first)
but thanks, for the post. was going to ask if they can match Orange friends and family 20% discount on tariffs, as I have access to this.
I've got no major complaints on Vodafone, but obviously makes more financial sense taking the orange 20% discount on iphone tariff or 30% on other handsets.
will just order both my PAC code when i sort out my computer issues0 -
What are peoples experiences of Vodafone matching "3" deals.
I am coming up to 3 years with Vodafone and didnt upgrade the handset last year.
I would like the Blackberry 9700 and inital offer by Vodafone (via shop) is
18mths
600 mins
U/L txts
U/L internet and Blackberry service
Free Phone
£35 per month
Three have a £20 offer on which is :-
18 months
200mins
U/L texts
Internet Bolt on with Blackberry for £5
Total - £25
I can get Quidco - £47.50 plus the legendary £20 accessory voucher.
I know the big difference is the minutes but I can live with that.
Do you think I could get Vodafone to bring down the cost to match theirs? I dont particularly want to move as I have not had any problems but £15 per month is a lot of money. I am just a bit wary about 3.

I have been offered a blackberry 9700 on a 18 month contract
700mins, 250texts, Unlimited landline, free internet, with the blackberry service
£37/m for the first 15 months and £40/m for the last 3 months
Is this a good deal?
Can I find something better?
Hiya!
Long time lurker first time poster
I have my heart set on the HTC Touch Pro 2, i went to vodaphone and asked what they can do
24 month contract
700mins, 250texts, Unlimited landline, free internet, £35/m and the first 2 months free.
It's such an complished phone i think i can be happy with it for 2 years. My MDA Verio 3 lasted 18months and i was pretty happy with that.0 -
Hi Kay, Upgrade [#2051697]
I received a call yesterday from a colleague from your dept regarding an upgrade and was offered a fantastic deal which i have agreed to go ahead with. Only problem was that my contract had been disconnected on the 30th and would have to be reconnected, which i was told could be done. I was told i would be getting a call from the relevant department today and would be up and running by midday. I still haven't been contacted by anyone from vodafone yet. I was also meant to receive a confirmation email from your colleague regarding the conversation and the deal offered.
I really would like to stay with vodafone and was impressed with the service your team has provided, which hasn't been seconded by the rest of the customer service dept.
Hope you can get in touch soon
Regards,

I have spoken with Vodafone twice now and I honestly thought 7 years of being a customer would count for something. I am only being offered new customer deals, I have my PAC and I am seriously starting loyalty with other network.
Is anyone getting retention deals from Vodafone?

From many years experiance i know now that being a long time customer means abolutely nothing to any network, they only seem to value new customers.0

Hello All,
I thought I would give you all an update regarding my three previous posts. (2566. 2575. 2581.)
About a week after requesting my PAC number I was contacted by Vodafone to ask why I was leaving.
I think I was contacted by the retentions department.
I say think, because my wife answered my mobile and just said its Vodafone. She could not remember which department.
Anyway I spoke to a chap by the name of Jonathon.
I do not think he was from the web team, as they had no way of contacting me other than through this forum, and the web team have no personal information about who I am.
So you will see that even though I offered the web team the opportunity to contact me in my last post, they failed to do so.
I told Jonathon about feeling insulted by Vodafones first offer, and that I felt LOYALTY should play a part from both sides, rather than just being offered the same as a NEW CUSTOMER.
Jonathan said he would have a look to see what he could do.
AND HE DID NOT FAIL.
He offered me what I thought was a CRACKING DEAL, (his 2nd offer by the way, the 1st was not what I wanted) and it was one of the tariffs I have mentioned in my previous posts WITH a phone thrown in.
It was over a 24 month contract but I have no problem with that.
I hold my hands up and say YES Vodafone do care about losing customers and in my case loyalty has played its part.
I wish you all good luck, I do know their (the reps) hands are tied in some cases, but they will work with you if they can.
I hope my comments may be of help to some of you,
Regards,
Albert.:j:)0 -
Today was upgrade day..For my last 2 upgrades vodafone has left me feeling very happy with their service, they spoke to me as though they valued my 8 years of custom and wanted to keep me and offered me a very good deal.
However this year was completely different, the retentions operator on the phone seemed like he couldn't care less. The phone call went something like this:
Me: I believe i am due an upgrade
Op: Yes you are..
Me: Erm..so can i have one?
Op: Yeah which phone would you like (monotone voice)
Me: I quite like the N900
Op: Thats £40 a month with the current minutes and texts you're on and it'll have to be 24months.
Me: Is that any different to what new customers get?
Op: Ok I'll discount it to £35.
Me: That's still too much
Op: Thats all i can do.
Me: Erm ok i think i'll wait for the two months for my contract to run out and then i'll move.
Op: Ok Bye
The call lasted about 4mins, as he didnt make a single effort to keep me. The funniest bit was that afterwards i checked online and the "discounted" £35 contract with the n900 is actually on their website for new customers! To be honest why dont you just close the retentions department down and instead send us a letter saying your contract is about to expire please check online to see what tariffs we have and if you dont like them then goodbye and enjoy your new network.
I can get an iphone with friends and family discount for £27 per month, i think i'll just take that up in April when my contract runs out.0 -
I had a similar experience this morning chilly. I am currently on Anytime 150. Was paying £12.50 pm (this has risen to £25 for final 3 months eek!) Anyway was offered £15 for same plan over 24 months (although last 3 months price would double). I asked what she could do to lower the monthly cost and also want 18 month contract. She said I could downgrade to 75 mins and 250 text for £15 pm over 18 months or £10 pm over 24 months. The lady was very polite but said she couldn't offer me anything better than their website offers.
Is this correct? I really hoped I would get a decent deal. If this is the best they can offer then I will just have to wait out until my contract ends. How do I go about getting my PAC? Will I get it once my contract expires?0
