Received a call from the web retention team today.
Anyone hoping to haggle a deal on the iphone with Vodafone......don't bother. They made it clear they were tied to tariffs by apple, and would only be in a position to do 'deals', if and when they get their own refurbs coming in (maybe a few months or longer).
So what it says on their website goes i'm afraid......now where's Tesco
i'm just waiitng to see if there will be any iphone updates with the announcement of tablet today in amercia.
was going to see if they can do deals on iphone, but if they can't no worries, saves me the hassle as will just order both my PACs and go to orange friends and family discounted iphone tariffs ;-)0 -
After several emails and a few phone calls from the Web Retention Team I have come to an agreement for the next 12 months. Its nice to know that Vodafones staff do care and will try to help where they can. Look out in 12 months time when I want a better deal!!!I say what I like, I like what I say!0

I fail to see why Apple can tell you what you can offer your customers. Vodafone are the ones who charge the line rental and Vodafone are the ones who have ripped of their existing customers by telling lies to them and increasing charges etc (to me included). I would have thought as a gesture of good will they would be offering something but to come back and blame Apple for not being able to do anything in my opinion is shocking. WHY CAN OTHER NETWORKS OFFER INCENTIVES?
Apple impose restrictions regarding contracts in most countries. They are a company who like to tightly control distribution and usage of their products.
Over time, usually Apple allows networks to offer slightly more flexibility
Aspects of these restrictions have been successfully challenged in some European countries who have laws to protect customers from these kind of conditions.0 -

If I was offered this I would happily take it, but apparently according to their customer service advisor I spoke to, this is not available.
Has anyone on this board been offered and taken advantage of this deal? If so, is the contract for 12, 18 or 24 months please?0 -
Just a quick note to say that i had a nice chat with Ian from the Web Relations team (WRT) who has sorted me out with a fantastic deal :money:
Took a while to get to speak to them but they are obviously very busy at the moment. Once you do get a chat with them they will do all they can to ensure you are happy and stay with Vodafone.
Escapee, ensure you are talking to the right people. Web relations or retentions will have the most power to make you an offer you are happy with
Cheers to everyone in this thread for making the bargaining process clear to me :T0 -
Hi,
I'm soon to upgrade within the next week - do you know the number to get hold of these people or is it just the upgrade department? They cant get me on my mobile as my son uses it & they wont talk to him - so I think I will have to call them as they never call when i'm with him!
Thanks0
