Vodafone Retention Deals

I wouldn't be surprised if companies are able to work out a profit valuation for each of their customers and are actively letting their lower value customers go so that they can sign up new customers to their newly priced tariffs with better margins.
After all, for a deal to work it has to be acceptable to both sides.
What's the sense in paying £XX per month for 1000 mins, 500 txts and 500MB internet if you use a fraction of your allowance.
Conversely what's the point for the network in offering the above deal at £XX with £10 discount if you do use a high % of the allowances.
I think the best tips for getting a good deal that you are happy with are:- as best you can match your contract to you typical usage a little over is OK a lot over is wasted money
- don't expect miracles IMHO loyalty is fast becoming a myth in the mobile industry
- be realistic even if you have "loyalty points" it will not buy you a deal on which the provider does not make sufficient profit
I understand where you are coming from.
I am not a high user of any service I use from Vodafone, but would like as much as I can get just to cover any unexpected high blip.
I only went over my inclusive minutes once and I needed to remortgage to cover the cost:rotfl:.
I also understand what you mean about profits and a deal being acceptable to both sides. But if you take out the infrastructure costs that Vodafone needed to pay out, in setting up this service, then maintenance of that infrastructure, you are left with a commodity that is travelling the airwaves. On a SIM ONLY, it doesn't really cost Vodafone any extra for me to tap into those airwaves.
So my feeling is that 100% of £20.00 is profit, 50% or 10% is still profit, its money going into their bank.
100% of £0.00 is zero, 50% or 10% is zero.
So if I was in business, I would rather have 20 or 30% going into my bank instead of my competitor like T-mobile, Orange or 02.
Anyway, just my thoughts.
Many thanks,
Albert.
PS. Still struggling to decide where to go. I have three deals I am looking at, T-mobile, Orange and 02 and can't make my mind up which is best???:)0 -

Likewise, if after reading my posts you feel you can offer any help on renewing my contract with Vodafone, then please feel free to contact me too. Before I make a commitment elsewhere.
Obviously if I do not here from you, I will assume my first posting was correct???
Thank you,

Hi,
I currently have a 30 day contract with Vodafone at 300 mins and unlimited texts messages at £15.00 per month. However I would like to upgrade my phone but keep my number, I called them on Saturday and was told that I would have to go on a 24 month contract at £20.00 a month. I dont want to be tied in for 24 months! when I told them this they said there was nothing else they could do??
Surely 12 months at £15.00 or £20.00 a month is more reasonable but they dont seem to want to budge, they seem to be pushing the 24 month option. I would rather stick with vodafone as the coverage is very good for where I live and work.
Can anyone help with what my next plan of attack is with Vodafone?
