Well I seem to have had a similar experience to some of the more recent posters on here.

I have had a £15 deal with Vodafone for years - I think it is about 7 or 8 - and upgraded my phone with an agreement to continue the existing deal. I noticed that over the last few months that my bill has gone up by a fair old amount - something like £32 a month now.

I queried it - and guess what - I had been put onto a deal which was discounted but not for the whole of the contract and now the discount has been removed. And I have had insurance added to my deal too without asking - I already have mobile phone covered in my home insurance so why would I agree to adding this to my account at any point?

As a customer who has been loyal for such a long period of time I am now ready to shift my deal as I feel I have been conned big style. It'll take something big to keep me at this rate given that my deal (which as I say was originally £15) is only something like 100 minutes and 150 texts.

    I'm not happy.

I was the same with the price increasing in the last contract I was told it was to do with Phones4U being bought by vodaphone and the discounted deal was with phones4u and not vodaphone.

If I get a deal from vodaphone I will want confirmation in writing before I commit to anything!

I am with Vodafone directly so they don't have that excuse - but when i saw your post I thought that looks too familiar to be just me then!

I am with them directly as well but it was phones4U in stoke - donot think they are anything to do with the phones4u shops. who use to administer the account.

Just to say hubby finally got his upgrade cancelled! We are off to go to PAYG and save some money (as we dont intend to use the phones except for emergencies). Going to save the money and put towards a holiday :)

Whoot! a success story. Although - good grief, the hoops you had to jump through ... :T
  • Hi There

Hold on to your hats folks - this is gonna be a long post! :cool2:

mclean1979 - It's never nice to feel like you're paying for more than you should and not receiving the service you expect.

Rest assured that this is certainly something that I want to investigate for you and correct. So that I can get to the bottom of this if you follow my instructions above to lilangel and send us an email I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

    Thanks

Give them a chance - you only posted the information earlier today, unless I am mistaken :).

I contacted them through their web link on Wednesday (I think) too and have not heard anything back yet.

I am sure that I read somewhere either here or the complaints thread that the WRT are dealling with a very high number of issues right now so they probably have a back log. (not sure what - if anything - should be read into that)

If they received the contact I'm sure they will reply in due course although in my case it's a query about retention rather than a problem/complaint so it may have lower priority.

My issue is very much with retention. My contract finishes in just over three weeks and i am looking at moving supplier to get a cheaper deal :money:

    Fair point!

I should have phrased it better - what I mean is that I'm not particularly dissatisfied with my current deal and have no technical problems. My current deal is

125 anytime x-net minutes (with unused rollover up to 1 month), 250 txts, passport and Stop the Clock + £5 p/m for 500MB data (18 month commitment) so in total it's £25 per month - last renewal I got a LG Viewty (the handset is perhaps a little disappointing).

My contract is finished at the end of Feb and have to say I am quite disappointed with the renewal deals on offer - none of the handsets on offer are particularly interesting to me and the push seems to be to a 24 month commitment - hence my considering a PAYG deal on another network as I think it will work out substantially cheaper based on my current usage.

So given some of the issues others have had in this thread I can see why perhaps my query might be lower priority.
