The retentions team were correct in saying that we are unable to change anything on our iPhone price plans. Hi Kirsty,
Here is a copy of the reply i put on the complaints board:-
I thought i'd add my two bobs worth in relation to Vodafone complaints.
I took out a new contract(no phone) on the 5/5/09, it was for 12 months.
My previous contract was for 18 months, took out on the 9/1/08.
My original contract was for 100 mins and 500txts for which i was paying £20pm. I phoned to complain about the tariff i was paying and what i was getting for that tariff. I spoke to JohnPaul (ext 51950 he gave me this so i could contact him) and he offered me a contract for 600mins,Uld txts,Ult Net @ £17.13 pm for 9 months(this was a 50% discount tariff).
I asked 'What happens after 9 months?, i don't want to pay £35 pm', 'don't worry sir' replies JP 'we will contact you and upgrade you again'.
Silly me.
When i tried to upgrade my contract(due 9/2/10) i was told by Vodafone that the earliest i can do this is now the 8/5/10!! My contract expires 8/7/10.
So, ultimately after the 9/2/10, i will be paying £35 for the next 5 months.
When i enquired about downgrading my contract i was told that Vodafone put restrictions on your account and the most you can downgrade by is £5 every 30 days!
Well that's just great Vodafone, scammed at the beginning and overpaying at the end, not bad for a 7 year customer.
Needless to say i will be doing my utmost to leave Vodafone come July.
Also i emailed yourselves and received this reply :-

Hi Smithmeister
I'm sure I can clear this up.
To be able to do this though I will need to take a look at your account. The reply you have received is not from my team, it is from our normal email customer services. So that I can find you email and take a look at what's happening could you let me know your reference number for the email?
Alternatively if you don't have a reference number, you can follow our previous instructions for getting in touch ensuring you quote WRT135 in the subject line (otherwise it won't come to my team).
All the best

When did your previous contract expire though? If you upgrade 2 months early then you still have two months commitment PLUS the new contract length. Upgrading doesnt remove your previous contract commitment!0 -

Yeah i know that mate. What i was asking why does it not start from the date i changed over ie May as that is when i started making the new payments?
Also why was i told that it would be 9/2/10 before i could change again when i now i'm being told it is now 9/5/10?0 -
Just to say hubby finally got his upgrade cancelled! We are off to go to PAYG and save some money (as we dont intend to use the phones except for emergencies). Going to save the money and put towards a holiday0

I requested and have now received my PAC code.
I have been with vodaphone more years than I care to remember and I am leaving because I was ripped of at my last renewal. I thought I had a 12 month contract but it was 18 and the price I was paying doubled during this contact as I had aparantly agreed to it. I tried to resolve this on numerous ocasions and was told I would be called back but never was.
The contact ended in December and I am now looking for a deal on an Iphone. should say that my wife uses the phone on this account and I have an Iphone on O2 through my work.
Can vodaphone retentions or rep give me a deal before i move else where? will they contact me or should I contact them.

My contract has been up for a few months now, over Christmas I lost my Nokia, and had to buy a new phone. The sound is awful and I can't hear anyone, sadly lost the receipt but Vodaphone say I have to buy a new phone to replace it, which Im not about to do.
Ideally I want the iPhone and the Tesco option looks the best.
With Vodaphone I have 900 mins, 500 texts for £35.00
I want to pay something similar but with an Iphone. Is that possible?
Ideally I want an 18 month contract, not 24 months.
I really like vodaphone, but they have not offered me anything worth while to stay with them,0 -
Well I seem to have had a similar experience to some of the more recent posters on here.
I have had a £15 deal with Vodafone for years - I think it is about 7 or 8 - and upgraded my phone with an agreement to continue the existing deal. I noticed that over the last few months that my bill has gone up by a fair old amount - something like £32 a month now.
I queried it - and guess what - I had been put onto a deal which was discounted but not for the whole of the contract and now the discount has been removed. And I have had insurance added to my deal too without asking - I already have mobile phone covered in my home insurance so why would I agree to adding this to my account at any point?
As a customer who has been loyal for such a long period of time I am now ready to shift my deal as I feel I have been conned big style. It'll take something big to keep me at this rate given that my deal (which as I say was originally £15) is only something like 100 minutes and 150 texts.
I'm not happy. :mad:0
