  • I am currently on a sim only deal of £15 a month, just started actually.

Has anyone rang up to cancel and they offered to do it for say £10? for the same sim only deal?

Or do they more than likely cancel you? Or get you into an contract?

does anyone know if the htc diamond will be coming to voda customers on upgrade? ive heard that orange will have it around the end of june, just wondering if voda will have it also to existing customers.
  • This is my retention deal with Vodaphone.

I need a new phone as my existing one is defective. I am not a heavy user of calls or texts.

I asked for a Sumsung Soul on a 12 month contract for no more than £17.50 per month (which I'm currently paying following Vodaphone halving my £35 pm payment after the Simply 3g collapse).

They have offered me a free Samsung Soul phone on a 12 month contract for £20 pm - 100 cross network mins and 50 texts.

I'm happy with that - my records with Vodaphone show I barely used that amount each month in calls or texts, even with my OH using it as well.

The Soul is out of stock at the moment but they are hoping to get some in tomorrow.

I know I could probably get more texts/minutes elsewhere but most of the Souls appear to be on 18 month contracts which I dont want - or they appear to be more monthly expensive.

Currently in negotiation with Vodafone re an upgrade on 3 x contract phones-existing package £15pm on 100 mins 50 texts. Have been offered 150 mins and 500 texts and a new phone.

Which would be the top 3 phones to go for. My daughter uses her phone to text a lot, my wife for calls and myself for a mix of both and maybe try to negotiate some internet access.

I have agreed a call back later this week to confirm which phones we want. Am I likely to be able to do a deal on free int access? and which phones should we go for?

We have all been with Vodafone for around 5 yrs and also have their full At Home Broadband package/calls/line rental at £25pm. Therefore current total monthly pay to Voda is £75pm.

Nokia 6300 feels really good for texting.

BUT i would recommend you ring them up, goto ebay.co.uk search for completed listings and try and get the phones with the highest re-sale value.

THEN buy ones which you actually like - 6300 is only abour £50 so you'd be getting a cheapish phone when you might be able to get a more expensive on.

im not entirely sure on this, but i think vodafone have restructured their price plans to include one of either unlimited texts, unlimited landlines, or unlimited internet...but this might be on the higher tariffs...

i have just received the n95 and love it, its great for the internet...you might be able to negotiate for that as i know some people have it on a £15pm deal..

otherwise, nokia phones are just easy to use - 6300, 6500 classic or slide all look good and are fairly petite phones..

At your current line rental prices, I expect you should be able to negotiate a Nokia 6500. They're good solid phones. Not sure about internet though, they'll want an extra £7.50 for that, and may want to rack up your total to £30 a month as well, that's what the CS told me today when I inquired about possible upgrades. I just ordered my PAC, will probably move to O2. Have had 2 phones on account with Voda for 6 years now, but for the past year, the amounts of time I've had my bills sent to me with incorrect charges and the hassle to chase them, it's just not worth it I reckon. Sorry, that doesn't help your case :-) but just sharing some thoughts with a fellow long time Voda customer.

Anyone else got a good Vodafone deal to shout about?

I just asked for an N95 8gb phone and got these deals offered:

250 mins, 100 texts and stop the clock. 12 month deal for £25 per month.
250 mins, 100 texts and stop the clock. 18 month deal for £20 per month.
100 mins, 50 texts. 12 month deal for £20 per month.

I said I wanted the first deal, but for £20 a month. He said no, then I asked for time to think, call me back - he wouldn't so I hung up.

    What can I realistically expect?

I rang Vodafone the other day as I was due to upgrade.

Was previously on 200 mins (inc Stop the Clock) + 250 txts for £22.50 a month.

Initially offered 500 mins + 500 txts for £30 a month, so I told them to get stuffed as both orange & o2 do far more for the same price.
Their offer then changed to 600 mins + Unlimited texts for £30 a month but once again I pointed out that Orange do exactly that for the same price but they offer a free Orange-Orange number as well!
So I was then offered 600 mins + Unlimited texts for £27 a month with a new phone (I picked Sony Ericsson w910i) which I'm happy with.

Unfortunately this new deal doesnt come with stop the clock (which apparently can be added later for another £5 a month) but I don't mind that so much because even with stop the clock I never talked for over 10 hours in the month. It was the texts that made my bill exceed £22.50 :o so unlimited texts will most definately sort that problem! :)

    So overall I'm happy!

I called last week to upgrade, the first guy was insistant that i keep my original phone (despite me saying I hated my U600 & the battery life is awful!) So he got a bye bye!

I called back and asked for the K850i - was told i could have it on a 24 mth contract but the phone would cost £25!!! Tariff was 500 mins & 250 msgs!!! I laughed heartily and said she must be joking & went thru to cancellations...

..then got offered 150 mins & 500 msgs (to suit my usage more) for £25 on 18 mth with free K850i. I ummed and ahhed for a bit, then he offered the me the same deal on a 12 mth contract :D

I'm happy with that and love my new K850 :D
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
