nice one defect.
last yr i asked for my pac and got it and i don't think i had an outbound call, and didn't really want to leave and only got an average deal.
had my contract for 8 years or so and have another one under my name. never heard of tariff deals, well i do try to ask for a decent phone at the time.
i want the n95 8gb for both contracts and don't want to pay for more than £25 a month each, more so less really, if possible
What happens is your details go into an automatic dialling system, your number is called and once it recognises you are on the line it will transfer you to an sales advisor very quickly, thats why when you receive these calls there is usually a moment of silence before you hear the advisor - If the call goes to your voicemail, no message is left and the dialling system keeps dialing to get hold of someone else,
So all I can think of is you may have just missed the calls or your phone was switched off or out of coverage at the time of the calls??
The deal you get is also determined by your average spend, and whether you need to change your tariff to a promotional one. If you can get a similar deal elsewhere bring that to their attention as to why you are leaving and it will give them an incentive to get authorisation from their manager to do the deal.0 -
PAC codes are only valid for 31 days - I was told to call back 31 days before my contract ends otherwsie I can't use it!
You can request your PAC code at any point during your contract, but they will ask you to pay the contract off before they issue it but when you are in the last 60 days of the contract they will usually not ask you for a payment as you pay your line rental in advance anyway.
You can definately use your PAC code before the official end of your contract but you will be billed to the very end.0 -

Hi some really good advise there.
Before having read that I was trying to change to a better deal with vodafone after my contract ran out...I'm on 500 texts and 200 minutes and paying £30 a month.
Really I'm wanting to go down to £20/£25 for a similar deal, the clincher being I want the new Samsung Soul for free.
Does this seem reasonable? I've been a customer for well over 5yrs now.
Any help much appreciated.0 -

Hi
Firstly great choice in phone, I think it looks great.
About the deal .. 200 minutes and 500 texts at £30 per month. It was a great deal in its day but now you can get more minutes and more texts for the same price.
You will get the best deal if you stay with the same package, so if you keep on the same tariff/package you should look at getting the Samsung Soul Free on a 12 month contract. Also the phone isnt the most expensive phone available so you should also expect half price line rental for between 6 to 9 months of the 12 month contract.
Good Luck0 -
Defect - thanks for the great info so far. I'm currently on a sim-only deal (£10 a month, 75mins only) and have been for about 10 months. I need a new phone and some texts added. There's no contract with this sim-only, effectively a 30 day contract. I've requested a PAC and waiting for the call. Whats the best deal i can hope for if i go for a Samsung Soul or Motorola RAZR2 V8?
Appreciate the help.0 -
Im with Vodaphone and requested my PAC Code as I did decide to upgrade after 10 months but cut a long story short I was only paying £17.50 due to the Phonebox direct collapse. They offered me a Sony Ericson W910i at £20 per month for 9 months then £35 for the last 3 months on a 12 month contract with 500 mins and 250 texts. Making the contarct total £285.
I thought that this was ok and was told that the 12 month contract would start straight away as it was only £2.50 extra for the final 2 months and I was getting a new phone now I thought it was worth it. Ehat they dont tell you is that the 2 months that you have left on your existing contract gets added to the 12 months making it 14 months so there was 9 months at £20 then 5 months at £35 making the total contract £355. I argued the toss and they have put me back om to my old contract at £17.50 a month which now ends in June and I have requested my Pac Code.
I do want to stay with Vodaphone and wondered if I could get the Samsung Soul or F490 for £20 - £25 a month on a 12 month contract. The Sony Ericsson W910i was the worst phone I have ever had for battery life and reception.0 -
Hi, -How does this deal sound.............
I phoned to ask about terminating my 12 month contract (currently successful on cashback - last claim to go!!!)
I use my moblie to contact my daughter daily on her mobile (she is always skint) , i had 500 mins and 200 texts cost was/is £35 PMonth. I used my call allowance regularly and did go over it a couple of times - ouch.... She on different network.
What i am thinking is --- staying with vodafone (only good coverage for me), getting new mobile, giving hubby my 12 month old phone with PAYT voda sim card (got free from their site), purchasing a mobile for my daughter and her partner together with free PAYT sim.
Vodafone offered me:- U700 (other than using it as a phone i do like having a camera) to use with my existing sim, 75 minutes, 100 texts, @ £20 per month - half price for 9 months - now £10 per month plus £5 Family to include upto 4 numbers.- £15 for 9 months then £25 for next 3 months.
To me it sounds pretty good especially as she can always contact me and her partner whether she got credit or not and i only pay £5 per month for it.
Although i have - to date been successful at the cash back deals it does concern me that it may go wrong.
Sorry for garbling - please just let me know whether this is good or if i could do better or even where i can get 2 really cheap mobiles for the 2 of them on a vodafone network......
Thanking you all in advance

I have a £15 sim only deal as well as a 12 month contract.
I managed to upgrade the sim only after 6 weeks to a 12 month contract.
I got 150mins 250txts (maybe 500 not sure yet...guy said he try & keep them) and a Motorola v9 for £20 p/m (£25 in months 11 & 12 to incorporate £10 for handset).
Im very happy with this deal.0
