I have been a customer now for over 5 years with 2 contracts ongoing, I am looking for a good deal for the Iphone 3G, Im not wanting to pay upfront for this phone but I am willing to pay 30 mnth on 18 mnth contract.

I hope someone can contact me that can at least try and keep my business.

  • Have been a vodafone customer for going on 10 years and have to say to date their service not only in terms of coverage and call centres has been second to none.
This year, for the first time, I am so infuriated with one particular pushy rep that I will be taking my business elsewhere. Have a £20 a month contract but average spend is nearer £30 a month.
Called up a while ago to see what was on offer only to have offers given to me that were more expensive than what was quoted on the voda webpage. Asked for a pac code as was willing to move to another supplier at a cheaper rate.
Retentions called me and offered me a deal on a storm but I said I wasn't familiar with the handset and wanted to check it out in a shop. Got "this deal is only valid for today and vodafone are the best and cheapest and you won't find better elsewhere". When I said i wanted to at least play with the handset in shop the basically rang off. My pac expired as I was overseas spending yet more money with vodafone and now I am going to have a look around at other operators. Just thought you might like to know about this arrogant pushy "salesperson" and wouldn't imagine this is the type of image vodafone would be wanting to portray..

It's true but the only date that has been given is "spring 2010". You can order it direct from Google unlocked now but it could work out expensive, when import duty is taken into account.

    Hello,

My 12-month contract with Vodafone is nearing the end and was wondering if anyone has received any good retention deals from Vodafone? I am currently on the Anytime 125 contract, which is 125 mins and 250 texts for £20 per month. I am hoping to get something similar for a little cheaper. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

The vodafhone contract I had was 125 free mins with stop the clock and 200 free texts, this was supposed to cost around £35 a month it was however averaging around £70 because I would go over. Not happy with this I threatned to leave the network.

They then gave me 300 free minutes minus stop the clock, and unlimited texts all for £20 pound a month!!

Make a bit of a fuss and you should be able to get a good deal :), I did this yesterday by the way.
  • I’m currently a couple of weeks from the end of an 18 month Vodafone contract with 700 mins, 250 texts, unlimited land line calls and unlimited internet for £35/month. My average usage over the contract has been about a third of that although I use the internet daily .

When I started my contract it was through a Vodafone shop and I have to say that the staff there were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful compared to the staff in other phone shops which was part of the reason I changed to Vodafone.

A few months ago Vodafone started phoning me up offering me upgrades to the phone and downgrading my contract as they could see I was on a more expensive tariff than I needed to be. I politely declined as I foolishly thought that when it came to upgrading the phone at the end of the contract I would be able to get a better phone than if I downgraded and I was also waiting to see what the iPhone pricing would be. The guy even said I could have an upgrade to one of the phones I was interested in as well down grading the contract and including a mobile broadband dongle with separate data allowance.

After being charged 40p for texts to Germany I wasn’t aware had been sent I phoned customer services to query them after trying to send a message by the Vodafone website failed. I really wasn’t impressed with the attitude of the customer services person who sounded like they couldn’t care less, accused me of giving my phone to someone else and it sounded they were in a foreign call centre and reading from a script. After not listening to my concerns about how the block on international numbers obviously wasn’t working I asked to speak to someone about leaving Vodafone. I was then put through to someone who wasn’t helpful at all and offered me a worse deal than I had previously been offered. The phone that was offered free a few months ago with a downgraded contract would now cost me £138 and I would have to stay on the same contract – how does that work

I also expressed an interest in getting an iPhone and was told straight away that I couldn’t keep the same contract terms I was on and would have to sign a new 18/24 month contract and buy the phone which is similar to O2 & Orange but slightly more expensive and Vodafone don’t even allow MMS messages as part of the texts allowance. The guy couldn’t even give me a reason why I should stay with Vodafone and that being an existing Vodafone customer means nothing as far as getting an iPhone through them.

I asked for my PAC code which I was told would be sent by text straight away but took a few days to arrive (maybe it was delayed because I was in an area that Vodafone claim is “very good” for 3g and standard coverage yet I either had one bar or no signal & no 3g at all while I was there. I also received a text prior to the PAC saying to expect a call from Vodafone within 48 hours, that hasn't been received either.

I’m really not impressed with so called customer service at Vodafone when you phone up. In contrast I went into a different Vodafone store today and the guy there was really helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and offered the phone that customer services said would be £138 for free but he couldn’t downgrade the contract and I was advised to go onto a 30 day SIM only contract at £20/mth and keep my existing phone.

There certainly is a lot of inconsistency in the offers they have which make it more confusing. Looking at some of the deals people have been offered recently I’m pretty annoyed that they haven’t even come close to matching any of them. They don't seem to understand that there are other providers and deals out there and they need to be competitive if they want to keep customers.
  • During Jan-Oct 09, I had a 9 month contract with Vodafone @ £12.23 pm incl VAT with free 500 mins + 100 texts + VP but no new phone/upgrade. When it ended, they upped this (without notifying me) by £12.50 pm to £24.73 pm which I have paid these past 3 months. I believe this may entitle me to a phone upgrade but not sure. My average bill for the past 6 months is £60 pm, incl VAT. In addition, I pay about £7.50 pm for a dongle.

What is the best way of either:
    - getting back to paying £12.23 pm as I did before (in practice, I use about 400 calls and 60 texts per month); or
    - getting the iPhone with say 400-500 calls + 75 texts + unlimited internet)

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
  • Dear Web Retentions Team,

I am due an upgrade on 9th Jan, I have asked for my PAC code as the signal in my house is terrible and I want an iphone so have decided to move to o2 because of the poor signal. The deals with vodafone seem better but I am moving purely based on the fact that my signal is very poor. Can you help?

I live in Newry in Northern Ireland

    Thanks
