    Dear Web Retentions Team,

I am due an upgrade on 9th Jan, I have asked for my PAC code as the signal in my house is terrible and I want an iphone so have decided to move to o2 because of the poor signal. The deals with vodafone seem better but I am moving purely based on the fact that my signal is very poor. Can you help?

I live in Newry in Northern Ireland

    Thanks

I'm in Newry a lot as well as Dundalk and I use a Vodafone Ireland sim card. I have no problem picking up network anywhere in these areas with Vodafone, so have you checked to see if it could be a fault with your sim card or phone at all?
  • Hi lufcgirl,

I live outside Newry and the signal is poor because my house is facing two mountains and the signal is blocked, I cant even get RTE or TV3.

I have Vodafone UK and the signal is very poor in the house, my brother has O2 and his signal is very good.

I read that you can boost your signal with some sort of box, but as someone else said im reluctant to pay for this service if I can go elsewhere.

It's by getting a UMA phone and then connecting to your wi-fi at home to be able to use phone calls and boost the signal.
In all honesty it's not worth doing and unless Vodafone are installing a mast near the mountains it's unlikely the could do anything for you either to stop you leaving. Best bet would be to move to o2, at least you know your guaranteed reception there!
  • Yes, I think thats what I will have to do.

    thanks
  • Hi, im pretty new to this site, ive just sent you a email with the subject as requested. please get back to me asap, as i have 3 lines which are due upgrades with vodafone.

How do Vodafone send out their upgrade handsets? The website says it is Royal Mail special delivery, but, a friend says it is by courier. This could be awkward if you arent in? Will they send it to your workplace?

Hi Ben @ Web relations team,

Having been a Vodafone customer for a few years running 2 contracts, I called up today as one of the contracts is up for renewal. The guy I spoke to basically told me that all deals he would do are the same as on the website and that he could not offer me anything better to try to retain my custom. Are Vodafone not interested in retaining customers as when I asked for my PAC code to leave he said ' Already done, it will be with you in 24 hrs'. Not even a hint of trying to keep me!!!
I say what I like, I like what I say!
