Had a great conversation with Vodafone earlier this week....

The Vodafone rep was fantastic and it just goes to show that its possible to get great deals by simply being polite and having a laugh on the phone with the advisor.

    I got the following:

    900 Minutes Anytime Sim Only
    Unlimited Texts
    Unlimited Mobile Internet
Stop The Clock Service FOC Normally £5 per month
    Vodafone Passport

Normally £20.00 per month but has been discounted to £10.00 per month

Well Done Vodafone and to the reps on this forum for great service!

    Cheers! :j

Got to agree with you, be nice to them and they'll hopefully treat you well. Brilliant tariff!!

I was on 125 mins, 250 texts, STC for £10 per month. Last few months I've gone over my mins which resulted in a bill for £55 in November! I phoned them up and couldn't up grade until Jan but he said I was on an old tariff and bumped me up to 300 mins immediately for no extra charge and back dated it October so my phone bill was reduced immediately :T. Mind you I did tell him he'd probably read about my murder in the papers if my husband saw the bill! :rotfl:!! Hope I can negotiate a deal in January like yours Matrix - plus a new phone because my one's pretty useless.

Hope you haven't been locked into a new contract with the tariff change?

I got the Nokia E71 500 mins and 100 text for £14.47 per month on an 18 month contract as an upgrade. Is this any good?

Well I got myself a very good deal yesterday with the Satio and Vodafone. The best offer they gave me originally was £30 on an 18 month contract (300 mins, unlimited texts + internet). I rejected this and asked for the PAC code. Then they rang me up yesterday for some more negotiation. They then made a new offer of £25 over 18 months, which I also rejected, and the final offer which I accepted I ended up getting a free Satio handset, 300 mins, unlimited texts + internet on just a 12 month contract for £35 a month. Total of £420 over the life of the contract, which was £120 less than their first offer, and £30 less than their second offer. So I'm very pleased. The guy said it was the most generous offer he had been allowed to give, and he didn't sound very happy about how cheap I had blagged it. Satio will be arriving later this afternoon, so I'm chuffed.

Well credit to Vodafone on one hand as they did phone me back after I sent them the link but on the other hand it was pointless. Like I said if I had been offerred the above deal I would have stayed and I asked for there walkaway offer. It was wait for it:

300 mins unlimited texts and internet £30 month 18 month contract and £70 for the phone or I could have the phone free if I did the contract for 24 months. I referred to this website and Toryboys offer and was told I dont know how we can offer that. I then again asked if that was their final offer as and was told yes.

Bearing im mind new customers get the phone free and ok for 18 months it is £35 but that includes 600 mins I only wanted 300 mins and also stated I only required 300 texts but did want the 500mb internet.

I ve now signed up with Orange instead after being with vodaphone for 3 years.
  • After a bit of haggling, managed to negotiate a free N97 mini on an 18 month contract with my existing tariff (150 mins 500 text unlimited internet £25 p.m.) which i'm happy with.
  • well my upgrade is due dec 31st, i'll hold on till vodafone release their iphone pricing though. what sort of deal should i be looking for? i'm currently on £40 18 month contract, although every bill i've had has been at least £50, averaging £60. i'd really be looking to do a 600/unlimited package or equivalent. i've been reading here that some orange customers have been able to transfer their 20% loyalty discount for line rental to an iphone package.
  • Here's details of my current contract and some questions:

I'm currently in contract with Vodafone for eligible for an early upgrade. After looking through this forum (which is really useful) I seem to already be on a decent deal and here it is for anyone who is interested.

(No phone included) 250 minutes and 100 texts a month, stop the clock and voda passport on a 12month contract for £10 a month. Previously I was also on a £10/month deal which included a phone (nokia 6300, new at the time) but had just 100 mins / 50 texts.

    Questions / thoughts:

Should I trust the 2 year old nokia to last for another year or so and take out another contract?

I don't need any more minutes or texts, should I try for something extra (like mobile internet) or try for reduced cost, (but will they go lower than £10?)

What do folk think of the rolling 30 day contracts, like Virgin media's (£10 a month for 200 mins and unlimited texts)?

If getting a new phone, what do you have or want or recommend?

    thanks in advance
  • Well, the fun will start on Monday. I can upgrade from then and will be looking for the HTC Magic. Currently on 150 minutes and 500 texts for £17.04 (I know, very odd) but I think it rounds up to £20 with VAT. Will see if I can get mobile internet with the phone and happily reduce text numbers as never anywhere near that amount.

Any Vodafone reps care to make me an offer I can't refuse? ;)
