Vodafone Retention Deals

Hi morpheus
thanks for getting back to me so quickly
those deals were based on a Nokia 6730 - i'm not really keen on having a touch screen phone but i guess it's not the most expensive phone they have on offer!
the 24 month deal also included either unlimited landlines or unlimited vodafone to vodafone calls.
my only concern with requesting my PAC code was after reading people slightly further up the forum who haven't been called back! are they likely to offer a better deal as soon as i request the PAC code and if i dont actually pass the code to another network would i automatically stay on Vodafone?
sorry for all the questions!0 -
They have offered me 600mins unlim texts for £9.80. This is fine but I want a phone. they can't offer much when you ask for a phone so seems like I will be moving to Virgin for the 5800 £15 a month. The measure of love is love without measure0

No worries jsw
Never heard of the Nokia 6730 so not sure how good it is or what its worth.
Ring them up and select the options for "if you are thinking of leaving us". When you speak to someone just say "I wanted to get my PAC code as i've found a great deal so want to keep my number".... they'll blabber on saying they'll help you, ask you what the deal is and then try and match it (assuming they do the same phone or with a similar one if not).
When they make you the offer, if it ends up costing more just say in a polite friendly tone "I think i'll get my PAC code and get the other deal as its cheaper and money is tight at the moment". They will then organise the pac code for you (not sure if they post them now or text) and thats the call over.
I am 80% certain they will call you at least once and ask why you are leaving. If you don't use the pac code though your contract will just keep running so you've lost nothing.
Just checked, that handset seems to be exclusive to Voda so if thats the one you MUST have then you have no choice. Its not a very advanced handset though, there are a million more like it out there.0 -

Thanks morpheus, you've made some really good points there.
I phoned back last night and asked for my PAC, threatening to leave for T-Mobile as that was the best deal I could find.
They've bettered the deal for £25 a month after 40 minutes on the phone refusing to accept anything - eventually it came to 6pm and they gave in as I think the person wanted to go home!
Anyway I'm happy with the deal of £25 a month for 900 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone calls.
Thanks again for your help, all the best

Well done JSW, just make sure you get the details of the contract (price / term etc) in writing.
@ Kaza - seems like an ok deal if the mins and texts are enough for you.0 -
after reading around on here i can see what a bum deal i got from vodafone last time,i have had 2 18month contracts with vodafone(about to finish the 2nd) when i took it out i got 200min with stop the clock,500 texts and internet and i currently pay about £36 a month,i see they even charge me for itemised billing, last time i upgraded i received the same deal and a SE K850i
i would like to stay with vodafone as where i travel for work i have perfect reception
i am looking for either the N97 or the new SE(cant remember name, the one with the space hoppers on the tv add lol) and i want a lot more minutes, unlimited text and unlimited interent
any idea whats the best deal i would be able to get for these phone?
if i need to leave vodafone i will0 -
I should be getting a call from Vodafone offering me a new deal soon as my contract is up late November I believe.
However I dont actually need a new phone as I broke my N95 8Gb and as they dont make it anymore I managed to get a HTC Magic through insurance
So basically I am hoping for a cheap deal, 12 month contract ideally. Also had my eyes on getting a contract with a free gift. Do Vodafone offer free gifts directly?0 -
I read the new SE only has 7hr battery life, so I would steer clear of that.0

Hi
My Vodafone contract is ending early March. My phone is getting old now so is it possible to upgrade early and tack my remaining 5 months onto another contract? Or would I just get a rubbish deal?0
