Vodafone Retention Deals

Am currently paying £30 per month for 500mins/100txt and just sent my notice to cancel the contract. What is the best rate I can get for a HTC Magic / 12 or 18 months / 400 mins above ?
I knew new customer can call up to get HTC Magic 600mins / unlimited text / unlimited internet for £17.50 (15months) and £35 for the remaining 3 months. Can retention beats this???

What do you mean you have "just sent your notice"... do you mean you posted it?
If you are looking for a retention deal thats not the way to go about it. Phone them up and say you want to cancel, thats when they offer you a deal.
If its not good enough then say so and they will let you give your 30 days notice then hopefully they will call up a week or two later and give you some even better offers to stay with them.
Please post back what offers you get made as I would like that phone too but can't cancel for another 2 months.
Looking around, lowest costs (not inclusing quidco / tcb) appear to be:
12m - £35+ (effective cost)
18m - £25 - £30+ (effective cost)
Obviously depends on how many mins / texts you want and unlimited data I would imagine?0 -
just renewed my contract sim only for 12 months with the following
700 anytime mins
250 texts
unlimited landline calls
internet
for £15 per month for 10 months and a £50 credit to cover the remaining 2 months
quite pleased with that0 -
Just under 1 month to go on my 12 months contract. Got the PAC and then a phone call from retentions on the same day.
I said I wanted to pay only 10 pounds a month and want a new phone.
Was offered Nokia 5800 on a 24 months contract for 10 pounds.
Turned it down saying I only want 12 months contract. They then offered 18 months contract, same price plan.
Turned it down again, and finally got offered 12 months contract, bill will say 20 pounds a month but they will apply 10 pounds discount throughout the 12 months to reduce it to 10 pounds.
Phone will be delivered on Monday.
Will be double checking all paperworks & phoning CS to confirm my package just to make sure the agent have not lied to me.0 -

Only 100 mins and I think 50 or 100 text (can't remember). But I hardly reach that limit anyway, so wanted to go PAYG.
But if Vodafone is giving me a Nokia 5800 for a total spend of 120 pounds over 12 months, then its a good deal.0 -

I rang on saturday to confirm everything was as discussed, but there was no record of the credit note. The woman I spoke to said she would escalate it to the next level. Obviously I heard nothing back, so rang tonight. To be told there was no credit, and none would be applied.
But I could ask for a recording of the conversion at the cost of £10 if I wanted to, he said. What exactly did they do when it was escalated? The guy couldn't tell me. Did they actually do anything? He couldn't tell me.
When I challenged the fact that either way I would be down on what had been promised, either by the full £50 or by £10 he hastily said the £10 would be credited back should I prove to be correct. I don't believe them. And as I have to write, it will take me beyond the 7 day cancellation period. Vodafone are in the stronger position all round.
I have got a couple of days to think about it, but I don't see any reason why I shouldn't cancel and go else where0 -

Imagine if this made it onto Watchdog, they wouldn`t be able to cope with the thousands of calls they would receive.0 -

Though that is double the price every month. My nokia 5800 is only 4 months old. The n97 is the same but with a keyboard, flashy widgets and more memory. Not worth paying double for each month, when my phone is virtually new0
