Why oh why do they blow it, cos now I'm getting very annoyed
Have you checked the memory compartment of the phone. As the memory is not in the box but in the memory slot0 -

Yes I had and it's the normal spec's (can't remember what tbh). Thanks for prompting though.
I do have a result though. I rang again yesterday and they offered to credit the value of the card to my account - so I can now buy one anywhere and save a few pennies too.
I got there in the end :T0 -

Hi,
Just had a call from Vodafone - they have offered me the following:
Tocca Ultra
600mins
Unlimited texts (capped 3000)
Vodafone Internet (capped, but i cant recall to what level)
Free Passport
24 month contract
£24.47/month
I dont like the 24 month thing, but was explained that this is due to the cost of the handset...
is this just a big "Flashy looking" bad deal? Have asked for details to be emailed to me, but it hasnt arrived yet...

Thats a v bad offer. was it off the outbound team?
If not get your PAC requested and wait for them to call - but be clear about what you want.0 -
The offer is almost acceptable IMHO - 18 months yes, 24 no.
Then again, I'm very biased - hate 2-year lockins.0 -

Hey guys, as some may know, I ended up cancelling my own contract with vodafone. My wife's Vodafone contract was however up for renewal, and despite my prior poor experience with vodafone, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the offer given off the bat.
After much negotiation with the pleasant 'Megan', I managed to probably nab the best deal out of my last three upgrades this month.
HTC Magic (free), 18 months, £27/m (inc. VAT) offering 1500xnet minutes, unlimited landline calls, unlimitied mobile internet, 500 texts and vodafone passport.
While initially having trouble confirming this deal with 2 customer reps, I contacted Megan through the email address she provided me to air my concerns. I was contacted within 1 minute of sending the email and reassured that the discounts (over £26) had been noted in my account under the appropriate section and that the 2 reps did not look it up properly.
I called again to speak to a normal rep and everything was as it should have been.
Well done Vodafone for offering a great deal.
On a side note, I have a HTC Hero (best phone I have ever owned) and for anyone considering the Magic, there is probably only 10% in it between the two handsets, and was pleasantly surprised with the quick and lagless interface of the Magic.
So anyone desperately wanting the Hero but can't afford it compared to the Magic, or you just want to save a few bob, just go for the Magic.
Fork86... Was this confirmed by email and have they stuck to their promise? I am currently in the process of upgrading via the outbound team and they say they cant get anywhere near it?!!?!:mad:0 -

They have indeed confirmed it and honoured it. It is for the full 18 months. To be honest, I was quite shocked at getting this deal as my wife was paying 40/month for 12 months, which they then kindly dropped down to 35 for the remainder of the last 6 months of her tariff. And this was for 750 mins, 250 texts and unltd lanlines.
It did take a bit of haggling on my part, and around 5 calls from the retention team (as well as numerous missed calls from them), but we got there in the end. It all depends on who you have at the end of that line.
As long as you ask for that pac code, you will get dozens of calls from them. Next time they call, just explain to them that orange are giving you a better deal on a HTC hero, a newer phone, and just quote them the deal you would like to be offered (be realistic), and always maintain that you would prefer to get the hero unless you can get a slightly better offer.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -

Thanks all for your opinions and help :T And yes, it was off the "I want to leave Vodafone team".
I never did receive an email from "Phil" the (very polite and friendly) man @ Voda... decided Im just going to wait now til the 3rd Oct (Contract end date is the 3rd Nov, nicely confirmed by Phil) and then call and ask for my PAC code and see what happens.Weekly Spend Challenge w/c 14.08.11 (Sun - Sat) £55.64/£750
