Vodafone Retention Deals

I have been on the SIM only £20 30-day rolling contract and asked for my PAC. Was called yesterday and offered the HTC Magic with 600 minutes, U/L texts and U/L data on an 18month contract for £24.64. Also going to include a 2GB micro-SD card.
Can anyone tell me if this is a reasonable deal? I think I have 7 days to cancel.
Thanks

I took this deal last week, I think it is a fair deal. Especially as my son haggled with 02 for over a week and only ended up with 200 more minutes and texts on 24 month contract.0

Thanks for the info'. Was wondering if I should have held out for more. The life of the contract will cost me 443.62. Sounds like a lot of money.
Thanks

Glad there is some deals about on HTC phones, hope they get even cheaper by the end of November so i can upgrade cheaply....
I just hate 18 and definately 24 month contracts though, but looks like I might finally have to give in and sign up for 18..... GUTTED!!!0 -
Rather than start yet another thread on the same topic, thought I'd post here for some advice.
2 years ago I took out a Vodafone contract on a cashback deal - worked very well with no probs.
1 year ago when Vodafone called about upgrading, I requested my PAC, and then surprisingly got offered what was at the time a very good deal. No phone, 600 anynetwork mins, unlimited texts, vodafone passport, £12.50/month.
The year is nearly up - I would ideally like a mobile with internet or e-mails as I spend all day away from my desk. Am happy with a Blackberry or anything else not fiddly to use. As I don't want to get huge bills, I'm looking for unlimited data and internet.
So in summary...
good internet phone
500+ mins
300+ texts
unlimited internet
Anyone have any advice on what I can ask for and expect price-wise? Really don't have huge huge budget.
Whilst I'm writing....husband is on £15/month t-mobile sim only deal with 350mins, 650 texts. Am sure can get a similar deal but actually get a phone with it elsewhere - any suggestions?
Thanks so much.0 -
My recent retention deal was a Nokia E71 with 600 minutes, unlimited text messages(3000 per month cap), unlimited internet(500mb cap) and Vodafone passport on an 18 month deal for £40 a month discounted to £19.57. I think you should be able to haggle your way to something similar.;)0

I had a call from Vodafone retentions on Friday, firstly offering me a sim only deal of £15 for 600 minutes and unlimited texts on a 12 month contract. I pointed out that I could get this as a new customer, so they offered me unlimited internet access as well for the same price. I told him I needed to think about this and another offer they made which included a phone. Since Friday I have had numerous calls from them, but was unable to take the calls as I was at work, so I called them this afternoon. I was told that the sim only offer including the unlimited internet was impossible and they would only offer me the same as new customers. They said I should take this as it avoids the hassle of moving to a new network!!!!
I was told that offers are time limited as people keep phoning back to speak to other people trying to get a better deal. Needless to say I did not take them up on the offer and am amazed that Vodafone think that I would stay with them purely to avoid the hassle to changing to another network.0 -
