  • Request your PAC and I bet they will phone you tomorrow with a better deal! This was how I got a decent deal

Stand firm and a better offer will come along!

My only bit of advice for anyone who is either thinking of upgrading or buying a new handset is to stay well clear of the K850i from Sony Ericsson. The touch screen is terrible and the software slow and unrealiable, despite a recent software upgrade. I have been with my phone provider for about 9 years and upgrade every year...this is the worst phone I have ever had...be carefull.

would telling them I want to change to PAYG (to leave the phone to take messages only) have the same effect as requesting my PAC code?

I wouldnt have thought so. By requesting your PAC you are informing them that you would like to port your number to another provider. As soon as you use your PAC your current contract ends

I got a call the very next day. I actually had 3 missed calls from them and answered the 4rth time, so they were desperate to try keep me!

But I am spending more a month than you - £35
  • Is it possible to request my PAC and then transfer it to a PAYG on o2 and then port it back to Vodafone on a sim only deal? If I request my PAC is my contract automatically ended with Vodafone?

I am currently on £30 a month deal but don't use it enough to justify it.

I know last time I cancelled a Vodafone contract I was asked if I wanted the number on a PAYG sim. I said yes and they sent me it free.

If you use your PAC your contract will only end if you are out of contract. I dont think you can transfer numbers to other networks PAYG Sims

I would ring them up and, ask to canel your contract (you need to send them a letter giving 30 days Notice) and ask for your number on PAYG SIM

Sounds like you dont use your phone enough to justify a contract?
