i have just been speaking to vodafone about an upgrade as my 18 months contract will end next month. after nearly an hour of negotiation the best they came up with was:
samsung toco ultra
500 min
100 texts
unlimited internet
18 months contract for £30/month
i told them to call me back later but i think it is a crap deal...what people think?
Try Virgin mobiles I'm sure they have that deal at a better price !!0 -
i phoned vodafone again today asking for my PAC code...i spoke to a very pleasent lady who did not try to sell me any deals...she will send me my PAC and then I am free:T...I will most likely go for a monthly sim only deal for few months until a good deal comes..propably on the new iphone0

I'm surprised these retension deals are so low. I have a friend at vodafone telesales and he does amazing deals. I would keep pushing for a better offer from them.0

My monthly contract ends on the 2 July.
I phoned today to request my PAC and was told that I had to put the request in writing. A request can't be done over the phone.
Is this true?
Seems like you guys are ringing up for your PAC and then getting given offers. What's going wrong for me?0 -

That should not be the case if you are within the notice/upgrade period of your contract (which you are). You only need to put anything in writing if you are cancelling your contract without transferring your number to another network. A PAC request can be requested verbally over the phone and then you should get a call from the outbound retentions department calling you up to give you your PAC and offer you some deals to stay.
Irrespective if you take up the deal or not, you will still get a letter in the post with your PAC code a few days after your initial request for it.
Give Vodafone a call again on 191 > Option 3 (upgrades/thinking of leaving) > Option 2 (thinking of leaving) and ask for your PAC again.
If you get someone from Vodafone insisting that a PAC code can only be actioned once they get something in writing, then take their name and ask them to email you that a PAC can ONLY be requested by putting it in writing. This may ‘suddenly’ make them realise that a PAC request can be requested over the phone0 -
Hello to all, Could someone tell me if this is a good deal please? I've had nothing but trouble for nearly 2 weeks! I was promised a deal over the phone, I jumped at it because is was a great deal... Only when I get my welcome letter, the deal I agreed to wasn't the plan that was on it.
Not only that, I already had an 18 month contract that was due to end in 2 months time, and somehow, Vodafone messed it up, I lost my existing number for almost 4 days, and the the magic number I was promised didn't exist either.
I spent hours on the phone being passed from one person to the next. I finally got through to the 14 day returns dept' and the guy who took my call was so rude, I didn't give him any excuse to be. Anyway, he basically told me that I had 2 choices, 1, keep the plan that's on the system now, or 2, return the phone and cancel.
I really am stuck on what to do? Because the deal I have now, even though it isn't as good as my original deal which I agreed to, is still (I think) pretty good. Here's the deal...
Free HTC Magic / 1 month free insurane
700 anytime mins
250 txt
Unlimited Internet
Unlimited Landline
Vodafone Passport
£39.00 pm over 18 months. But they also gave me this at half line rental for the first 10 month @ £19.50
Shall I take it? Or shall I return the phone because this isn't the original deal I was promised. My 14 days end on Monday.
BTW the HTC Magic is the best phone I've ever had, it's a fantastic bit of kit and I can't put it down!
Thank you.

i had the final call from vodafone to give my PAC code and they gave me the code but they also offered me what i wanted which is to stay on my current tariff for half price line rental and only for 12 months contract (700 min, 250 texts, unlimited landline calls and unlimited internet for £17.23/month) obviously witout a new handset...very pleased considering that i used to pay £35/month for the last 18 months for the same tariff0
