Vodafone Retention Deals

Rang 191 yesterday and requested my PAC code and was offered the deals below but at £5.00 extra per month, declined the offer. Today had a call back from the outbound retentions team who offered me either of the deals below:
HTC Magic - Free
600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet/email
18 month contract
£24.99 per month (full 18 months)
Nokia 5800 - Free
600 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet/email
18 month contract
£19.99 per month (full 18 months)
I decided to go with the HTC Magic at £24.99 for per month.
12 months back I had to haggle quite a bit with the outbound retentions dept to get the deal I wanted and this year I found that its the total opposite.0 -
I managed to get following from Vodafone Outbound Retentions earlier today;
HTC Magic - Free (+ a postage fee although I'll buzz 191 to nagged them to credited this back to my account)
300 mins
unlimited texts
unlimited internet/email
18 month contract
£24.fortysomething per month (18 months)
Just shy of the best deals people have posted on here but I'm happy.0 -

Has anyone managed to get the postage refunded or not charged in the first place? I do begrudge paying them this, given how much money they are going to get out of me over the 18 month contract anyway!3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
i was on 30 per month for 300 minutes (i dont use texts). and when i called to leave i was put through to Upgrades and offered 15 per month on same deal, with no new handset, 18 month contract. however, last year, Retention offered me 15 per month for 9 months, with free handset, on 12 month contract.
the woman in upgrades told me the Upgrades and Retention department are all one, so i couldn't speak to them to get a better deal. and the only way to cancel would be to give 30 days written notice. if i call for a PAC code are they likely to call me back with a better deal than i have just been offered?
also, seems silly to be on contract for 18 months if i could get 300 minutes elsewhere for 15 per month on PAYG with DD. can i?0 -
I've had a right mare of an experience with Vodafone. I am currently on an 18 mth Anytime75 STC + 100Txt contract for £16 p/m.
My contract expires in July so I asked to upgrade, best they could offer was Nokia 5800 keeping same price plan. Wasn't happy with this as I could get a deal on net for £15 p/m over 18 mths with more texts and mins plus £90 cashback and £30 Quidco at the time. Didn't expect them to offer cashback but thought they would maybe match monthly price and throw in free internet perhaps. They wouldn't so asked for my contract to be cancelled upon it expiring which they confirmed.
Then I got all the usual pestering calls asking if they could change my mind, one rep said we'll match the price of £15p/m over 18mths and increase your mins and texts. Agreed to this, only to find out that the lying so and so has put me on a 24mth contract. Called to complain said sorry but nothing they can do and so I have sent my phone back under 14 day return policy.
Make sure when agreeing with retentions department that you double check everything . So after 4 loyal years with two phones on contract needless to say I'm taking my custom elsewhere.0 -
Just called retentions again and the cheeky people said I wasn't who I said I was because I gave them the wrong info which I am certain I didn't, I passed their checks last time I called. They want me to take ID into a shop, does this mean I can never phone them again until I do this? A shop is miles away!0

It seems very good!!:T but worth checking it again.
Yesterday i requested my pac code, they give me
£10 a month
250 mins
100 texts
STC
unlimited internet
nokia 5800 free
bluetooth handset free
12 months
i was very pleased, but when i called it back to double-check, everything changed. the offer i got is £25 a month for 12 months, only 1 month free internet....
tried to call their 14 days return dep, but was told that vodafone never give nokia 5800 for £10/ month contract. i have to receive the phone first in order to cancel my contract. I left my work address to the guy when i upgraded the contract, but for some reasons, the phone is sending to my home address, i don't know when i should get it...
always get person's name and department first, this is my lesson learnt.
awful experence with vodafone!! this morning, i received the upgrade letter and it says i would pay £10 (25-15 discount)a month for the next 12 months. So it means the guy did not lie to me. The account depart and 14 days return depart cannot find the £15 discount applied in my account. Of course, i called them again this morning and talked to their manager, finally she passed my case to outbound depart and i got the same offer apart from free mobile internet:
£10 a month
250 mins
100 texts
STC
nokia 5800 free
12 months
i am expecting my phone delivered on tuesday :T finally sorted...:A
good luck guys!!0 -
The general pattern of deals (on a 18 month contract) being offered after having read the last 15 odd pages and the deal I got from the outbound retention department yesterday (as well as last year) is that whatever phone/tariff packages are currently being offered to new customers (on the Vodafone website) is what you can expect from the outbound retentions department, minus £10 per month on the line rental for the duration of the contract.
So at a minimum you should be aiming for a discount of £10 per month on line rental (and free internet included if it’s not part of the contract). Anything more would be a bonus.0 -
I never manage to get a decent deal out of retentions. Best I could get is 100 minutes 500sms, internet on a 24 month contract for the bargain of £20 a month.
PAC code issued
Off to look at the E71 on Three which works out closer to £16 if the quidco and RAF track.0 -
Phoned retentions after reading every single post and got the following deal:
HTC Magic Free (And free postage)
600 minutes
Unlimited texts
500MB internet
12 month contract
£24.99 a month
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! :beer:0
