I'm so jealous! I asked for the Tocco Ultra and was told that I couldn't have that or the other Tocco, unless I paid something towards the handset or went for a more expensive contract!

I have got 60 days left on my contract. I was trying to get a descent deal on storm since 11th but offered some rubbish deals. Initially I was offered 600 mins Unlimited text, internet and email for £35 a month on a 18 months contract. But asked whether tey could do it for £30, was declined and offered 200 mins + 1000 txt plus balckberry services for £30 whic I think is appalling. These offeres were given by the upgrades department. I went down to Vodafone shop by me today but they could not match any of those offers either. They offered me the £35 deal on a new contract.

Came home thinking to go for an Iphone deal as I got home BB with O2, I could at least save on the BB payment.

I rang retentions department to ask exactly when to give them the notice and to request PAC, but the nice gentleman offered me

750 min + 250 text + Unlimited landline calls+ unlimited internet and web mail for less than £30(Including vat) on a 18 month contract. I said I would agree if he could include either a spare battery or a car charger. He agree to send a car charger. Now I am kicking my self not to put that request for both the charger and the battery, I think I could have got both if I asked for both.

I think the deal is a good one, please do not accept any offers from upgrades dept. as they are rubbish, always wait till you are able to give them notice to cancel whereby yo always get a really good deal.
The phone is already on the way so I will have it tomorrow. I am really really happy:rotfl::T:beer:

That is a great deal. I was offered:
    Blackberry 8900 Curve
    600 minutes
    Unlimited texts
    Blackberry service
18 mths - £30 for first 15 mths and £35 for last three.

750 mins with unlimited landline would be incredible.

    Fingers crossed!

When I got through to retentions, I just asked for PAC code straight away and I was then asked why I wanted to leave.

Told them which I wanted a Tocco Ultra and vodafone deal was no good, so am going to either carphone warehouse or o2 as they have the phone I want ... granted they wanted cash, but I could go through a cashback site and get the phone for free ........... once I mentioned cashback, the retention guy practically begged me to take the phone :)

I got a nokia 5800 and have to say its ok but am not sure about the lack of keyboard.
I'm thinking of phoning up and asking for a different phone.
Just wondering what peoples experiences are of phoning retentions after you have got a phone and agreed to stay. Is there any leeway for negotiation at that point?
Should point out I'm only a few days into my 14 day cooling off period so can rightfully cancel.

I've got just over 60 days left of my contract, what happens if i ask for a pac?

will they give it to me?

and if i use it, will they bill me for the remainder of my contract in one hit?

if you use your pac ie effectively terminating your contract, they will send you the final bill which will include reminder of the contract to be paid and may be early disconnection charge if there is one on your contract. you can upgrade if you need within 70 days calling 191 but i can garantee you won't get a deal as competitive as you would get from retentions.

    thanks,

i know i wont get a better deal than those from retentions but they are offering me worse deals than those for new customers to the extent that i would be better off financially to cancel the contract port my number out to a PAYG sim on another network then comeback on a new contract or just switch to another network.
